Clean, cozy, quiet and private, Hudson Valley cottage. In the picturesque town of Montgomery, NY. Perfect for a couples weekend or a Self-Care getaway. 75-90 minutes from NYC. Close to major highways, parks, lakes, rivers, hiking trails, restaurants, shops, wineries, farms, etc.. City Winery and Angry Orchard are minutes away. Lake Minnewaska, Sam’s Point, Mohonk Preserve, New Paltz, NY, Storm King Art Center, are 1/2hr. drive. Bear Mountain, West Point and Bethel Woods are 40 minutes away. The Cottage is 600 square feet of efficiently planned living space. Furnished and decorated to be comfortable and easy to clean with minimal soft or cloth surfaces for those with allergy concerns. It has a full kitchen, full bathroom with tub, fast WIFI, huge smart TV, comfy loveseat/dual recliner and an even more comfortable Queen sized bed. Perfect for a quiet, private, self-care escape for one, or a romantic weekend getaway for two. You may never want to leave! The cottage is built on what property remains of a small family farm that once operated here in the early 1900’s. The quiet road leading to the cottage was once a dirt pathway that ran through the original farm. The cottage sits within it's own 1/4 acre private fenced yard behind the original 1920 farm house, which has been modified since it’s original construction. The back yard of the cottage has a 6' high privacy fence on 3 sides but is open at the front which faces the quiet street, for a view of the woods across the street. One of the small outbuildings of the original farm is still visible in the woods across the street. The cottage also has a private back yard patio and a firepit too. Perfect for relaxing in the sun or star gazing at night. The most unique aspect of the cottage is that it utilizes geothermal and solar energy to help maintain it's temperature year round. In the summer, only a small window air conditioner is needed to keep the entire space cool. In the Winter, turn on the realistic looking electric fireplace to take off the chill. Or, the radiant heating system in the tiled floor of the cottage, evenly and efficiently warms the entire space when needed. Guests have full use and access to the entire cottage except the attic and utility room. Guests also have full use of the private yard of the cottage. I live next door and can greet you if you like. I can also be reached by phone in the event of an emergency or message me through the Airbnb app for routine questions. Otherwise, you are free to enjoy your private stay! Montgomery, NY is a quaint, picturesque and historic town along the banks of the Wallkill river. It's in the center of the Hudson Valley. A great place to visit and an even nicer place to live! The town of Montgomery has a long history of hardworking, independent people that continues to this day. The town, as well as the villages of Montgomery, Maybrook and Walden have a nice collection of independently owned businesses, cafe's, farms and restaurants. We encourage you to shop local and support our local businesses when you can! Montgomery, NY is also in the middle of the Shawangunk Wine Trail, which is a collection of 15 wineries in the surrounding area that offer tours and tastings. Montgomery also has plenty of hiking and biking trails, as well as parks, lakes and rivers to explore. We have a number of golf courses in town as well. If you're really adventurous we have paintball, horseback riding and skydiving nearby too! Best of all Montgomery is easy to get to! With our highways, train rails and airport we are known as the transportation hub of the Northeast! You will need a car to get around town or to venture out into the Hudson Valley. However, Uber and Lyft are available in the area if you decide to use Metro-North to get to the cottage. To get to the cottage by train from NYC, you can take Metro-North’s Hudson River line to Beacon, NY. Then Uber or Lyft to the cottage. Or take Metro-North’s Port Jervis line to Campbell Hall, NY, which is a beautiful ride, then Uber or Lyft to the cottage. It’s about a 15-20 minute ride to the cottage from either train station. We do not allow animals of any kind due to allergy concerns. For safety and security purposes there is a security camera at the front door to the cottage that is on at all times.
