This charming home is an ideal, tranquil retreat. While only a moment's walk from town, it is secluded, sitting directly on the lake. Kayaks are provided. Watch the sun rise and set from the house, the shore or while floating. Eagles & loons are active, so watch for those, too. The house is fully furnished which will make your stay a comfortable. Come to focus on doing the things you love: walking, shopping, fishing or just being. *Please note: Month-long stays are not available Jun-Aug This charming, fully furnished lake home is one of the oldest properties in Buffalo, MN. It sits directly on scenic Buffalo Lake. The living room, sun room / dining room, kitchen, bedroom, and even the bathroom have windows with lake views. The clawfoot tub is an ideal place for soaking at the end of a day. Within a short walk, you will find thrift shops and antique stores, places to eat, a coffee shop, and a tap house. Boat rentals are also with walking distance. Walking trails connect the house to a park and along the lake. There is room to park, but, depending on your interests, you may find that you don't need your car during your stay because so much is within walking distance. Inside the house, upon your arrival, you will find a list of spots that we recommend as places to eat and things to do. Please ask if you want more, and we will be happy to share what we know about the area, and about the history of this beautiful home. Please note that the house is more than 100 years old. The air conditioner is a window unit. The extra bed is a day bed that pulls out into a king sized bed for sleeping. We will respect your privacy, while being available. We live on the opposite shore, so be sure to wave! While only a moment's walk from historic downtown and all that it has to offer, this retreat feels very secluded. There are no neighbors within view, adding to the feeling of seclusion and privacy. You can be fully independent of your car during your stay here with its close proximity to town and walking paths. The Albertville Outlet Mall, MANY antique stores and almost as many good fishing lakes are all a short drive away. Or, take advantage of the rich resources of the Twin Cities & western suburbs, since downtown Minneapolis is less than an hour's drive away. Occasional Shops are open some weekends for shopping. Check our the city of Buffalo & Chamber of Commerce calendars for open shop weekend dates & for events at Sturges Park, within walking distance, connected by the Lake Walk. Walk to Buffalo Books & coffee for coffee, or get a caramel roll at BJ's deli. Pick up fresh sandwiches for a picnic from The Loaf & Ladle & then walk a few blocks to the Parkshore Pavillion to rent kayaks, paddleboats or a pontoon (call for reservations). Saturday mornings the Farmer's Market is open, also an easy walk away. Finish your evening by walking to Hayes Public House for local beer or to Evelyn's Wine Bar & bistro. If you want more choices, a short drive away you will find two golf courses, Detroit-style pizza, antique shops galore, mini golf & a variety of restaurants.
