Lorena: Modern & Bright in Crosby Near Bike Trails

Meet Lorena - this newly remodeled and well-equipped house is in the heart of Crosby on a quiet street and three blocks away from the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail for quick access to the Cuyuna Mountain Bike Trail System. We are happy to share our insider tips with our guests to enjoy Crosby at its best! When you walk in the front door, you are greeted by a screened-in front porch where you can store your bikes, paddleboards, skis, or other outdoor gear. We have set out a cooler and camp chairs for guests to use if they go for a picnic, hike, or swim. Enjoy coffee in the mornings on the porch. The main living space features a Room and Board, queen size pull-out sofa for high-end comfort and a 50" smart TV where you can access your own streaming content. Pick up a growler from the Cuyuna Brewing Company on Main Street and enjoy a local beer while watching Netflix on the comfortable sofa. A desk is also available, so you can both work and play in this house. Free WiFi is included. The bedroom has a queen bed with a Tuft and Needle, memory foam mattress and a closet with hanging space and shelves. Memory foam pillows are on the beds. Blinds are on the windows to allow for a restful sleep. The kitchen has brand new, stainless steel appliances including a fridge, microwave, oven, and coffee maker. There is plenty of cookware for guests to use to create delicious meals after a fun day outdoors. The long, butcher block peninsula allows for plenty of prep space. The bathroom has been fully renovated with a tub/shower combo for taking a relaxing bath on your vacation. Outside we have a propane gas grill that guests are welcome to use. Please do not use charcoal in the grill as this can ruin it. There is a patio with an outdoor dining table and a fire pit with Adirondack chairs in the backyard. A washer and dryer is available in the basement for guests to use. Guests can park in the two gravel spots in the front of the house. There is also plenty of parking on the street. Our house is named The Lorena in honor of the life of Lorena Hickok who was an incredible journalist and likely lover of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Lorena Hickok was a journalist at the Minneapolis Tribune during the time our house was built. We honor her legacy as a glass ceiling breaking journalist and affirm the rights of all of our LGBTQ friends to live their lives with full equality and without fear. Guests will have privacy in this home and check-in through a code on the front door. We are a phone call, text, or message away if help is needed or you have questions about the local area. Our home is located in the heart of Crosby. The main street restaurants, bars, and shops are a quick 2-minute bike ride or 10-minute walk. You can hop on the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail within minutes.
