Room 1 at The Roost over Rafter’s Tavern (b. 1889)

Rafter's Tavern has been a public gathering place since 1889 and still retains its old-world charm- a comfortable place where one can spend time chatting around the fire with a classic cocktail or listen to great live music while enjoying our acclaimed burgers! Weather permitting, you can also dine under the stars in "The Nest" behind Rafter's Tavern. Our vintage boarding house style accommodations provide more than just a place to lay your (Website hidden by Airbnb) an experience. There are 5 bedrooms available to rent in varying sizes and, in boarding house style, they share 2 bathrooms on each end of the hall. There are no TV's but there is WiFi available as well as a laundry room. Room 1 is the largest bedroom, with 2 windows overlooking the street and one onto the driveway. There is a queen bed and a daybed as well as a small writing desk. The room is next to a shared full bath and down the hall from the shared library. The Library may be a cozy place to read but it also holds a secret and the mysterious hallway beyond is right out of a movie. Please let the hosts know your approximate arrival time so they can greet you or arrange for you to let yourself in. At checkout, please leave the door to the room open, lock the exterior door and drop the keys in the mailbox at the top of the stair. Host is generally available throughout stay, particularly when Rafter's Tavern is open. No check-ins on Tuesdays or before 8pm on Wednesdays. Upstairs from Rafter’s Tavern for great food and live music indoors or at The Nest weather permitting, 1 minute walk to Callicoon Theater, 3 minute walk to the Delaware river for rafting, kayaking, tubing and fishing, 10 minute drive to Villa Roma, 20 minutes to Bethel Woods, 30 minutes to Monticello Raceway, 35 minutes to Resort World Catskills Casino, and 45 minutes to Elk Mountain Ski Resort.
