This is our third Airbnb, and we love to host. As parents who’ve traveled A LOT w/ our kids, this Airbnb was designed to include the needs of traveling families. A hidden gem community, Berwyn is conveniently located with easy access Chicago, forest preserves, historic neighborhoods and famed architecture. We are 2 blocks from the Metra train - be downtown to union station in 20 minutes. We’re also a short drive 31st street beach with gorgeous Chicago views. Wana go on a bike ride? Lots of natural light, private and multiple destinations for unwinding after a full day of sight-seeing. Located in a quiet community, you’ll feel at ease by the lovely gardens and homes in the South Berwyn Depot District. Our private apartment is the entire first floor of our 100+ year old home and will sleep up to 4 adults. We have a pop up mattress, king size bed, a nursery nook with small crib and bunks with a twin on top and full sized bed on the bottom. Upon entry, you’ll discover a piano (all are welcome to play) board games and children’s books in an eclectic and cozy living room. The space offers two porches, ideal for enjoying a cup of coffee in the summer mornings. The train schedules can be found on Metra (Website hidden by Airbnb) We are off the Harlem BNSF stop and you will want to select the fare going to Union Station. LAUNDRY ROOM: Besides the laundry room with free detergent and supplies, there’s also a basement drafting table with minimal desk space if you need a more private place to work. BUNK BEDROOM: The bunk room has a large closet with built in dresser drawers in the bed frame and kids desk. It sleeps up to two adults on the bottom, one on the top and there is a corduroy’s bean bag/ full floor mattress that pops out into a bed for extra sleeping surface. In this room you will also find a sound machine, train set and toys. FOUR POST BEDROOM: When we created this listing there might have been an audible gasp when we found this bed. The Zenius foam mattress is super comfy! If you're a parent you know the value of a large sleeping space. There is enough room to set up the pack'n'play, store luggage and work at the nearby desk. You’ll also find an open closet rack for hanging clothing and additional storage space in the yellow bench. The fireplace is strictly ornamental but you’re welcome to light provided candles. THE KITCHEN: Stocked with all your cooking basics + Ninja coffee/espresso/fancy drink maker, water filter and counter space with barstools for socializing and preparing meals. You’ll also find a fully loaded BBQ grilling kit and marshmallow roasting sticks in the bottom cabinet to the left of the oven. ADDITIONAL CHILDREN'S ITEMS: We just purchased a baby monitor and a crib (photos coming soon) so you don’t need to bring your own! Umbrella Stroller and High Chair are available upon request. RULES/EXPECTATIONS: Please be honest. We expect all guests to acknowledge our rules and expectations prior to booking. QUIET HOURS are from 8pm - 7am ☀️☀️☀️Our happiest guests have been families, solo travelers and early risers 🔴 Late night, non sober activities aren’t a good fit for this location. This includes any actions that would disturb the calm of our neighborhood. 🔴 Our neighbors can and will contact us with any issues. Our toddler has a big voice and loud feet! We do our best to keep her quiet in the morning, but there is always potential for noise. If for some reason she was kept awake by loud activity the night before, she will still wake up early the following morning and it will be wild. We know kiddos have different plans from adults, so if your child happens to fuss while you’re here don’t sweat it. 🔴 We do not want to host or allow parties, large gatherings of any kind. This includes undisclosed people (not accounted for at time of booking) For your safety and ours, we have cameras installed at the front and back of our property to ensure that only guests on the reservation enter the property. ❗️ Any guests that violate the party or undisclosed guest rule will be asked to leave immediately and the booking will be cancelled without refund. ☝🏻 We do not allow smoking, vapes, marijuana or illegal substances of any kind. NEIGHBORHOOD: Berwyn is lovely! It’s quirky, small with lots of historic homes and close to Chicago, yet relatively unknown - that’s what we love about it. Upon arrival you will find a chalk board with a curated list of favorites for quick reference. We know you'll be hungry and might want take a run and/or move about. Join us on a cargo bike ride tailored to your interests and ages of those in your group. As urban cyclists and commuters who ride approximately 200 miles per week, we'd love to give you an experience of Berwyn and the City like you've never seen. Please ask us about this at the time of booking! It’s very new and we’re still working out the specifics. First floor apartment, laundry room, front porch, back porch and family friendly outdoor space. Parking is located in the rear of building and there is also free street parking. You will need a permit for week day street parking which we can also provide. We live upstairs and are always a text away. We’re happy to offer a restaurant suggestion or answer questions. We’ll be 6 feet away if we see you outside and will be masked if doing laundry in the shared basement. Charming and quiet street located in a historic train Depot District, in Berwyn, IL. We are walking distance to Metra BNSF line, lovely mom and pop shops, grocery stores, public art, cafes and several forest preserves. Just 30 mins to downtown by car or train. One parking space provided + free street parking. Also available at no charge is a vintage Schwinn tandem bicycle and single speed cruiser. Ask us about our Cargo bikes! This listing is brand new as of Nov 2020. This is our third Airbnb endeavor since 2015. We started out with a spare room in our city apartment, then a guest room and backyard camper and now this 1900’s two flat. This is an ideal location if you want a cozy place to retreat at night and don’t mind having two small children living their life above you. They do wake up early, most days by 7am.
