"The Ely-Freese House" 2nd-floor apartment has on-site parking. The front-door access for our guests has evening lighting with lockbox for self-check-in. Washer/dryer are available off-site (coin-operated, located in adjacent apartment building - key to access provided). First floor of the home occupied by us, our Property Management Office. A picnic table, charcoal grill and backyard lawn area, may be used (as available, charcoal not provided). Residential area, downtown businesses nearby. There are 15 steps to enter the private (for you/your guest booking) entire 2nd-floor apartment consisting of two bedrooms, bathroom, living room and kitchen. There is central air and the ability to adjust heat/cooling to personal preference and hardwood floors throughout the space with area rugs. Each of the two bedrooms can be secured individually with key. There are ceiling fans (as well as tabletop fans available), queen size beds with pillows/decorative pillows, linens and comforter - blankets are stored in hallway built-in drawer and/or bedroom closet top shelves; mattress foam topper available in bedroom closet. There are bedroom room- darkening curtains, clothing closets and dresser storage; one room with dresser mirror, the other with door size mirror. There is an adjoining door between bedrooms that can be locked with an additional key provided. The vintage theme bathroom has a tub with a hand-held shower spray head (two heights to position), a window with built-in mini-blinds and a screen for air-circulation/venting. The living room is furnished with a love-seat sofa, cushions, end-table and lamp and a TV stand with 43" Smart TV, wi-fi (passwords noted in information binder). The apartment has wi-fi, and internet service as available (barring any system or neighborhood-wide "outages.") No cable service or current antennae for local broadcasts, but streaming access with guests' own membership to those services. A closet off the living room can be used to hang coats and also has a broom, vacuum, fire extinguisher and various cleaning items as well as an iron and a full-size ironing board. The kitchen is equipped with a Keurig coffee maker, small tea kettle, microwave, electric stove, refrigerator and table seating for three guests. There are quality eating and serving utensils, bowls/plates, glasses, mugs, serving bowls, colander, pots/pans, baking sheet, mixing bowls, measuring cups/spoons and casserole dishes. Additional cleaning supplies are underneath the kitchen sink. The hallway has built-in cupboards and drawers with blankets, extra bed linens, extra towels, a hair blow dryer, miscellaneous personal care travel items and individual clothes detergent packages. Guests may use (as available) coin-operated washers/dryers located on each floor in the next-door adjacent apartment building (on the corner of Washington Ave and Harrison). A key to access the apartment building laundry facilities is provided to guests. The backyard picnic table and charcoal grill can also be used, as available (charcoal not provided). Guests have two driveway parking spaces as well as the option of street parking, if available (there is no covered/garage parking). Downtown Elyria is within 5-minute walking distance. We are local and accessible through texting or phone call. We may also be in our business offices (variable weekday and weekend hours), which are located on the first floor of the building. Situated in the historic area surrounded by downtown Elyria/businesses, Lorain County Cascade Park, and a residential neighborhood. Downtown Elyria is a 5-7 minute walk - eating establishments and other storefronts. Street parking is available. This is not a space suited for infants or young children. Caution for the entry flight of stairs - ALL guests, especially parents and/or guardians of small children who may be visiting, must take full responsibility to avoid any potential for falls when/if near the perimeter or top of the stairway. There is short (approximately 3 foot tall) wood railing around the entire perimeter of the stairway which is open to the first floor and there is no safety "child gate" at the top of the steps (Please also see photos)
