THE UPPER HOUSE - Peaceful Bayview Haven
The Upper House is a unique 140 year old country farmhouse, nestled on a hillside overlooking Passamaquoddy Bay, surrounded by rolling hills, woods and tranquility. Our summer home is the perfect rustic escape for families and friends. Spend hours relaxing on the front veranda, meander through blueberry fields, or take a short walk to the beach to watch the highest tides come and go. In the evening, get cozy in front of the fireplace. The house has been well loved and lived in, first by Senator Gillmore as a summer home, followed by his descendants. It is surrounded by woods and fields which overflow with blueberries in August summer. We are renting the house 'as is' - basic amenities. The quiet secluded location, fields, forests and beach are the Upper House's true gems! Guests have access to the whole house and property, woods around the house, fields, and beach. We ask guests to be mindful of nearby properties and stick to the public roads. Pets are welcome. Please let us know if you are bringing 4-legged friends so we can let the neighbour's know. Thanks! We are renting the whole house. We will welcome you when you arrive and shown around the house. There is an alarm system and three families summer in houses nearby, but not on the same property. Should you have questions or concerns, we can be reached by telephone and/or have someone come by to help you. We are pet friendly, however we would appreciate knowing what kind of pet and how many you have with you and we need guests to be extra respectful of neighbours and their pets. Thanks!! Enjoy a family owned stone beach within walking distance, lake swimming at Lake Utopia, 10 min away by car, or day trip to the beautiful sandy New River Beach. The Upper House is located just outside the town of St. George, New Brunswick and only 30 minutes away from picturesque St. Andrews. Local attractions include whale watching, day trips to Grand Manan Island and Deer Island. Perfect home base for visiting Eastport Maine, Saint John the Loyalist town, Fundy National Park , Moncton and the famous Hopewell rocks. Or, you can just sit on the veranda with a good book, enjoy the view and watch the deer grazing in the fields below. The surrounding land is owned by relatives who summer there as well, each has their own house and property. You may bump into relatives walking their dogs on the roads or on the beach.
