Our light-filled, newly renovated farmhouse sits on 48 acres of pasture and trees, with wide open vistas to enjoy, and farm animals, gardens and wildlife to witness. Your experience will be a mix of the peaceful down to earth experience of farm life, nestled in an elegant, clean, and cozy home. Our location is an easy drive to waterfalls, wineries, lakes, and a charming and hip country village. Your stay supports our organic farming practices, and helps us afford our conservation efforts The farmhouse has a private entrance with a code lock and plenty of free parking. You'll have private access to the whole house, which is spacious and full of natural light! We offer WiFi, washer and drier, 2 bathrooms with tub and shower and a full kitchen stocked with the essentials ( olive oil and vinegar, salt, pepper and spices, and, at your request, burgers from our cows and chicken). You will have access to a shady front porch, a back porch with a gas grill, and a view of gardens and farm animals, and outdoor spaces to relax and roam. Please note this is an old farmhouse on a working farm. We use no pesticides (except on wasps' nests), so you will encounter insects during your stay. Parts of the house are over 200 years old, so you will experience the charm and quirks of an old farmhouse. We have had many infants and kids stay with no complaints, but one family that came didn't feel like it was safe for their young kids and felt intimidated by the dogs, the electric fencing (for our farm animals), and the old wood floors. It is up to you to decide if an old house on a farm is a safe place to bring your kids. We also have 3 very social dogs. If you don't like dogs, this may not be the best place for you to stay. The dogs will want to hang out with you, and they are free to roam around, so you will interact with them (they are not allowed in the house). The dogs guard the chickens, so if there is a predator you will hear them barking. They are wild and playful and love people, and although they are not aggressive, they can be intimidating to some You will most likely see us working on the farm and in the veggie garden in your backyard. Feel free to ask us about our animals and farming practices. We are unavailable on the weekends (off-farm jobs), but if the timing works out, we welcome guests to coordinate time to meet the animals. Let us know! It doesn't always work out, due to our busy schedules...but sometimes we can make it work, and we love to show folks what we do! The focus of our farm is restoring the land from the affects of conventional agriculture, through regenerative practices that support soil microbes, farm animals, and all life that take refuge here. We strongly believe in what we do here, and we are so excited to share our passion with you! We have 100% grass-fed burger meat from our farm available for sale. We also have pastured, organically-fed, whole, frozen chickens for sale from our farm. Let us know if you would like to buy some to grill on the back porch, and we will stock your freezer and leave you a bill at the house. Mahra works off the farm from late morning to the evening on weekends, but is otherwise out and about on the farm, or working in the garden. She is available by phone when she is on the farm. She is happy to help in any way, but please respect her busy farm schedule, and only contact her when necessary. Please only contact her on her cell-phone during your stay, not through airbnb Right between Rt 89 and Rt 96, but nestled on a back country rd, our guests have easy driving access to everything the finger lakes have to offer. Conveniently located within a mile of many cideries and wineries, and right along the Cayuga Lake wine trail, our farm is also 6 miles from the charming town of Trumansburg where you can visit the local farmers market, sweet breakfast cafes, a countryside market and a local coffeeshop with great coffee! Truamansburg is also home to the largest waterfall east of the Rockies....Taughannock Falls! We are also no more then 25 minutes from Ithaca, the wine trails on Seneca lake and The Finger Lakes National Forest. What makes us special is that we are a farm, where you can listen to the sounds of bird calls, use our kitchen to make meals with local produce, or relax and picnic in the grass while watching chickens and cows roam the landscape... We are implementing exceptional cleaning practices to prevent the spread of the COVI-19 virus. We offer hand washing soap at every sink. Please do your best to clean up after yourself and keep a 6 ft distance to protect yourself and your host. It's necessary to have a car to navigate the Finger Lakes from our farm, as we are out in the country, but we are conveniently located between two main roads that bring you to all the local attractions. If you bring bikes there are at least 3 wineries and cideries within biking distance (including The Fingerlakes Ciderhouse, Shepherdess Winery, and Lucas Vineyard), and if you're hardy, Trumansburg is 6 miles away. There is a biking and walking trail called the "black diamond trail" that goes from Taughannock Park in Trumansburg to downtown Ithaca. Driving in this area is very dreamy-- lonely country roads with gorgeous vistas of farmland and forests. If you are intimidated by dogs, we can do our best to meet you with them upon your arrival. This doesn't always work out because we are not always home when you will arrive, but if you have any concerns please communicate that to us before your arrival Parties and events are not allowed For Fall and Winter groups, we don't have central heat, but there is a mini-split heating and cooling unit and electric heaters throughout the house and a wood stove with wood supplied by us. If you need any help with the wood stove, we would be happy to give you some instruction for use. Because it is an old house it can only handle so many heaters. We have placed the heaters throughout the house so that they don't blow a fuse. Do not move the heaters to other outlets or you will blow a fuse
