Big Papa’s is a peaceful waterfront 2 bed 2 bath on Lake Rousseau in Inglis, FL. NO DIRECT ACCESS TO THE GULF BY BOAT, BUT A VERY SHORT DRIVE TO SEVERAL BOAT RAMPS GETS YOU TO THE ACTION! Completely remodeled inside, this is a fisherman’s dream with a dock right out back and access to Lake Rousseau, the Withlacoochee and Rainbow Rivers. Bring your boat or rent one locally. Tube on the Rainbow River or scallop in Crystal River, both just 15 minutes away. *No direct lake to Gulf access You have access to the whole property which has a washer/dryer, Wi-Fi, Roku TV in living room, a grill and griddle, coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea. There is plenty of parking and room for a boat. Susie, the gray and white cat belongs to the property as she belonged to Big Papa. She is NOT feral, but she is used to doing her own thing. She lives on the back porch and will take care of you while you stay in her home. Even though Susie is comfortable here, this is not a pet friendly property as we have open lake shores, no fences and gators tend to come close to the dock. Swimming is not encouraged either. This is NOT a property within walking distance of anything but pure nature and the Buoy Bar at Emerald Cove, located a quarter mile away (you can meet the neighbors there). **Be prepared to drive for an evening out**. Great local restaurants can be found in any direction: Shrimps Landing and the Blackwater Inn in Inglis; Swampy’s, The Blue Gator and Gruff's in Dunnellon; Crackers, Charlies Fish House, and Margarita Breeze in Crystal River. A propane grill and griddle are on the back deck for guest use. Groceries can be purchased in Inglis, Cyrstal River or Dunnellon. The kitchen is also fully stocked with cookware if you choose to prepare meals rather than go out. Guests will receive a code to enter the front after booking. Linens, towels and body wash are available. Boat towels are located in each closet for any outdoor use. This is a wildlife area. Reptiles, deer and raccoon are common here. DO NOT FEED the critters. Especially the gators. You may see them from the dock, but do not attempt to touch, taunt or feed them. Use caution at all times and NEVER ALLOW CHILDREN ON THE DOCK OR NEAR THE WATER WITHOUT SUPERVISION. Sheds are off-limits to guests. Guests have access to all property with the exception of the sheds. Parking on premises and space for a boat. Contact me via text or e-mail with any issues. Leave a nice note in the guest book. Leave a complaint or any suggestions or problems that need to be addressed in the green book. Big Papa’s place is located about 5 miles outside of Inglis, FL in the heart of Florida’s Nature Coast centrally located 20 minutes from hiking, kayaking, boating, swimming and scalloping. If scalloping is your plan, there are plenty of outfitters and guides in the area. If you choose to bring your boat, we have room for parking. But please note, there is no direct access from the lake to the Gulf. You will have to drive to a boat ramp nearby in Inglis, Crystal River or Homosassa to put in. If Ecotourism is your plan: drive to Crystal River where you can swim with Manatees, Dunnellon where you can tube or kayak the Rainbow River, Goethe State Forest and a multitude of parks and springs and the Gulf of Mexico. If Fishing is your plan: There are two boat ramps less than a quarter mile from our place. One public and one next to the Buoy Bar at Emerald Cove. Many other marinas and ramps can be found close by. Within a 2 hour radius you can be at Disney, Daytona, Clearwater/Tampa or Gainesville. **Be prepared to drive to get anywhere from here.** However you may choose not to go anywhere and just enjoy sitting on a swing in front of the fire pit or grilling fresh seafood on the deck. But we suggest you take advantage of what the Nature Coast has to offer. Visit the springs, go scalloping, go fishing and enjoy the area. Out of the way location. Be prepared to drive. If arriving late, bring groceries or research breakfast locations. There are plenty just a short drive a way. Coffee and tea are stocked at Big Papas.
