This large, one-room studio is perfect for couples or singles to get away, as a jumping off point to explore the PNW or for a business traveler. Enjoy this quiet space tucked away on a large flag lot in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchenette allows for simple cooking: dorm fridge, microwave, one burner hot plate, toaster oven, coffee pot, and water kettle plus all the amenities are provided. Please note the sink for handwashing dish clean up is located in the bathroom. Our peaceful one-room studio is attached to our home, but has it's own private entrance and private bathroom. We also offer coffee beans, tea, sugar, spices and cooking oils. Dishes, glasses, silverware, pots and pans and cooking utensils are also provided. There is plenty of storage and cupboard space for your clothing items. Enjoy the small private patio with bistro table and chairs. Depending on traffic, we live about 25 minutes from downtown Portland, 1.5 hours from our beautiful, rugged coast, 1 hour from Mt. Hood and 45 minutes away from the Columbia River Gorge. Wine touring and tasting is only 15-30 minutes away. We provide maps, hiking book, tours and tourist information for guests. The door between our home and your room remains locked at all times for your privacy and ours. You will enter through your front door and have your own private bathroom. The private patio is yours to enjoy. Parking is available nearest to your front door. Simply walk along the walkway, down 2 steps and you arrive at your door. We have hosted many people from all over the world including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Germany, China and Spain. We love meeting new people, but also respect your privacy and enjoy our privacy. We are available through text for questions from 7am to 11 pm. We live in a suburb of SW Portland on a quiet flag lot, so our home is tucked back off of the street. Parking is provided next to our fence with easy access to your room. We have nearby parks, nature parks, restaurants, and shopping within 10 minutes of our home. Having your own car is HIGHLY recommended as our public transportation is less than ideal. There is a Trimet (public transportation) bus stop 1.7 miles or a 30 minute walk down the main road for those hearty walkers. It's 700 ft elevation gain on the way up. There's a side walk almost the entire way on the right side of the road. The Trimet 99 bus is the express bus into Portland. If you miss it, the 93 is an easy transfer to the 12 at the Tigard TC. We have Uber, Lyft, Zip Car and Car2Go in our area, as well. DUE TO COVID 19, we ask that guests not have friends or family visit the Peaceful, Large One-Room Studio unless they are in the original booking. That means that if you have friends in the area, they may not hang out with you here. Your room is attached to our living room by a locked door and curtain. This door remains locked during your entire stay. You may hear the muffled sound of our TV, but not often. We will not hear you unless you are yelling. We are a quiet couple. Parking is free and your space is priority while you are staying with us. It is located next to our fence and stone wall.
