This is a self-check-in for a private room in a 3 bedroom shared house in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The room includes a memory foam mattress, a back & foot massager, wifi, TV, roku (with Netflix & Amazon access), and a desk. Clean & simple. The entire upstairs (except for the other occupied bedrooms) is available for you to use, which includes the living room, kitchen, a full bathroom, & a half bath. The laundry room downstairs is also available. -Bedroom (an European style bed, memory foam mattress, with duvet cover, & a dedicated work space desk) -Living room (piano, TV with surround sound, stereo, books & games available) -Kitchen (stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, blender, utensils, cookware, & Keurig with coffee available) -Dining room -Full bathroom -Half bathroom -Laundry room (located downstairs, immediately to the right down the stairs - please contact host with any issues pertaining to dog living in basement. Note: dog is contained separate from the laundry area). Feel free to use any laundry detergent -Backyard (Grill & fire-pit available - backyard is shared with other guests and the host’s dog) At the moment I am often at the house. There are often other Airbnb guests. There is also a husky mix dog who is blocked off from the upstairs area and the laundry area and stays with me in the basement. This listing is ideal both for people who prefer to be left alone or those who like interaction. If I am around, I absolutely love socializing but it is not a requirement. Calling or texting is the best way to contact me. This area is a quiet suburb. When you venture outside of this suburb you enter the hustle and bustle of the busy metro Detroit. -Within a half-mile radius: on 12 mile there is Amarin (a good Thai restaurant), the Dovetail coffee house, Big Boy, Hungry Howie’s Pizza, BP gas station, Baskin Robbins, Applebee’s, Marshall’s and Walmart, to the east on Hoover there is Shell gas station, Little Italy Pizzeria, Lotus Pond, Ram’s Horn and Country Oven. To the west on Van Dyke there is Subway, Happy’s Pizza, Ham Center, Thai Smile, Kabob House, LKO gas, McDonald’s, Dunkin’, Arby’s, Crab House, Circle K and Mobil gas station (with an ATM). To the south there is the 696 interstate that runs east-west. There is a Kroger on Hoover south of 696, and at 12 mile and Mound there is a Meijer and an Aldi. Places I find interesting outside of the half-mile radius: Food: Pi’s thai cuisine in Hazel Park, Voyager in Ferndale, Johnny Noodle King in Detroit, The French Lady in Birmingham Coffee: Astro’s in Detroit, Great Lakes Coffee Brewery in Detroit Cultural: DIA, DSO, Ford House, Ford factory Given how the metro Detroit area has developed, you will find that having a car or ubering is the most convenient way to get around. There are Smartbus stops, however, the nearest being on 12 mile, a half-mile/10 minute walk from the house. Parking is available on the street only (preferably directly in front of the house). There will be a code to enter the front door, as well as a separate code for your bedroom. Both will lock automatically. Please also be aware that this is the coldest room in the house, but the heat works well and there is also an extra heater in the room if needed, as well as an extra blanket. The walls in the house are also generally thin, but I imagine this would be the case in most houses in the area due to their construction. Very important: parties are strictly forbidden and will result in your being reported and kicked out of the Airbnb. One additional guest is allowed if booked via the app.
