At the Bear's Den, you will find a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom camp-style property located in Greenville Junction about 1 mile from downtown Greenville, 2 minutes driving(5 minutes walking) to a public beach and boat landing at Moosehead Lake, 20 minutes driving from Rockwood and Mount Kineo, and at the head of various ATV/Snowmobile access trails. This place is ideal for a families or friends gathering to enjoy what the area has to offer in all seasons! The cabin has a front porch (complete with a swing) and back deck with a gas grill. Further, we provide a cast iron chiminea in the front yard to enjoy on summer nights. And our camp is dog friendly, too! This home has been furnished to provide maximum comfort for family and friends. One bedroom provides renters a set of bunk beds and a queen size bed. And the other a set of twin beds. The living room has a pull out couch and there are cots and air mattresses in the closet for extra sleeping space. The living room provides a spacious area to gather and watch one of the many DVDs we provide or Netflix on the firestick. The dining room has both a table and bar for groups to eat and play games at. Our kitchen is fully equipped with all necessities for a camp stay (pots, pans, utensil, dishes, tupperware, etc). Further, enjoy coffee on us through our Keruig machine. The utility room provides a functional washer and dryer that can be used at anytime. We also provide the use of one bicycle and two (single person) kayaks (roof straps and padding available for use, too). The camp is located at the trailhead of the various ATV/snowmobiling trails that Northern Maine has to offer. It's a quick 2 minute drive to the public boat landing for ice fishing and boating (or you could always ride your ATV on the road there). It's 2 minutes driving (or 5 minutes walking) to the two public beaches (and playground) in town (Red Cross beach and Boat Landing). It's 20 minutes driving to the Rockwood Town Landing (and Mount Kineo ferry shuttle). Lastly, its surrounded by various levels of hiking trails and spectacular viewpoints (Big Moose, Little Moose, Little Wilson Falls, etc). The bookshelf has numerous local area guides and trail books. The camp is walking distance to Woody's Bar and Grill and Kelly's Landing and within 5 minutes driving distance to Dockside Tavern, Stress Free Moose, and Kamp Kamp (a Greenville gem). If you are interested in trains, the camp is located next the Canadian Pacific Railway, so you can enjoy the train whizzing by a few times a day. I'm a quick phone call or text away should you need anything during your stay. The camp is located in Greenville Junction at the tip of Moosehead lake. It is a great starting point for your group to explore all the area has to offer in each season. It should be made clear that this is a camp-style home in the northern woods that sometimes can lose power/internet when a storm hits!! It is a decades old wooden home that has a quintessential Maine camp charm containing all the items you would need at camp up north! If you are looking for a fancy cabin, my camp is not for you. Further, there is an active train line near the home.
