Glamp in a sweet little camper on a hobby farm!. We are in horse and cattle country but very close to Chattanooga. It's a bit of both worlds! Our vintage camper sits behind our larger guesthouse with a view of the woods and pond. We are on the property, too, in a 145 year old farm house. Our dogs, Rocco and Dakota, like to visit with guests. Our donkeys and goats are very friendly and welcome supervised pats and cuddles. Watch the fireflies, listen to the cicadas and frogs, and unwind. Our camper is a (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Silver Streak. It accommodates two people and has a small kitchen, a bath with a shower, and a deck with an outdoor combo grill/griddle. The propane stove and oven work and we have outfitted the kitchen with basic kitchen needs. Renovated with new mattresses and air conditioner, it's cozy but for someone looking for a unique stay, it fits the bill. Yes, there is a little fire pit and plenty of wood that we gather from around the place. Our property is 31 acres with lots of room to explore without going anywhere. We're kind of a destination place, so much more than just a place to crash. There are trails through our woods, big pastures to walk through, ponds to sit by, and a breeze to enjoy. If you need to work, wifi is available. But really, just bring a hammock and set it up between the two big trees right next to the camper. Be on vacation. Our barnyard is home to 4 donkeys, 6 goats and right now, 14 very free range chickens. We rotate the donkeys and goats through the property during the day so there are plenty of opportunities to say hi. Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon, Downtown Chattanooga--everything is an easy drive from here. We know lots of hiking trails we can recommend, bike rides to take, cliffs to climb. Chattanooga hosts RiverBend, an Ironman competition, several bike races --and it is just a 20 minute drive into town. UPDATE: we are now a pet friendly rental! $10 pet fee and we do have to limit it to one dog over 20lb or 2 under 10lbs. The camper is small but we know that folks love to travel with their dogs. There is a $10 per pet per stay fee that we add after booking. (P.s.- you may see a notice in the “reserve” box that no dogs are allowed in the camper. Ignore that—it is a blip that we have not been able to fix) Camper guests have their own space apart from the areas generally used by the main Bunkhouse folks. There is a deck, a grill, a fire pit, and a small yard with easy access to the back pastures, pond, and woods. The barn and the pasture areas are shared with anyone staying here. Parking is very close to the camper in a shared lot. The big yard and grill house are reserved for Bunkhouse guests. We live here and are around pretty much all the time. We enjoy meeting our guests but are happy to give people privacy. We always leave eggs and coffee and tea for your breakfast and kindling for the firepit. Our full sized guesthouse is booked most of the time. Camper visitors should expect to meet other guests at some point but living space is not shared. Camper guests and their dogs should be ok with other dogs running loose. We are in a perfect location for hiking, biking, canoeing or just hanging out watching the sunsets. Chickamauga is an historic town next to the Chickamauga Battlefield. There is a fantastic Civil War museum there. Lookout Mountain's hiking, hang gliding, and rock climbing is 25 minutes away. Out here our neighborhood is a rural bedroom community but it is still mostly farms and pastures and cows, lots of cows. You will need a car here although we have been told Lyft will bring you out here from Chattanooga. We are 15 miles from downtown Chattanooga, 9 miles to Ringgold, 12 to Lafayette. There are very good restaurants in our neighborhood that offer seating or take out. Biking into the Battlefield is easy. If you have all day to do it, you could get from our place to Chattanooga on the West Chickamauga Creek by canoe. Our barnyard pets are fed twice a day behind the barn. They do make some noise at that time. The wifi out by the camper is not as fast as it is in the Bunkhouse but it does work. Not sure movies can be streamed but regular surfing works fine. Also--this is important--if you are really tall or large, the camper may be too small for you. The beds are twin sized but only 6'3" long. The shower is best for those under 6' tall as well. The hot water tank is just 10 gallons-actually bigger than most camper water heaters. We have set the temperature high so that more cold water can be mixed in to make a longer shower possible. However, just know that long luxurious showers are not going to happen in the Silver Streak, only getting clean. :-) Please be assured that we are following Airbnb's guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting between guests.
