In a fairytale setting of Forests and Gardens, the Cozy little Stone Cottage sits just above Padilla Bay, with wonderful views of the Islands, Guemes Channel, the distant Cascades and Mount Rainier. Originally built from stone in the 1940's, this Local Landmark has been carefully restored to retain it's Rustic Charm while offering every modern convenience. All of the amenities of a top rated B&B are provided with the privacy and comfort of your own Vacation Home. Your peace and privacy are our top priority. Let the awesome views inspire you and the closeness to nature restore you. The Stone Cottage is situated on beautiful Samish Island, which is one of the lesser known islands (and best kept secrets!) of the San Juan Archipelago. Samish Island is a "Drive-To" island located off the northwest coast of the Washington. It is connected to the mainland by land reclaimed through a system of dikes- created in the early 20th century. Samish Island is located just 6 miles from the cool and funky town of Edison, less than 10 miles west of Interstate 5, and 25 minutes south of Bellingham. Surrounded by Chuckanut, Samish and Padilla bays, offering some of the best Clams, Crabs and Oysters in the Northwest! Samish Island was part of the ancestral homelands of, and was named after, the Samish Indians, a Coast Salish tribe of the Pacific Northwest. Now a mix of rustic cabins and sprawling estates are set amongst deep forests, rocky cliffs and sandy beaches. The island is also home to a large number of bald eagles, blue heron and other wildlife. The quiet island roads are perfect for long walks and bicycle rides (don't forget to wave to everyone!) Enjoy a board game or a classic movie in the cozy cedar paneled living room. Watch the sailboats go by from the window seat, or curl up with a good book by the original stone fireplace. The patio is the perfect spot for summer evening cocktails, barbecuing and intimate campfires. We invite you to be our guests. Whether you are planning a Private Escape, a Romantic Retreat, or a Fun Friends Getaway, the Stone Cottage is the perfect choice! To view dates and make reservations more than 6 months in advance please contact us or send a request via Homeaway's "contact the host" portal We have been in business since 2009 and have dozens of repeat guests.
