The attic is not included in the base price. If you have more than 6 people (or 3 beds are not enough) you may add our attic space to your reservation for $70/person/night. This rate is firm for attic guests #1 and #2 but is negotiable for attic guests #3-#6. The attic sleeps an additional 6 total and includes a queen bed, three singles, a trundle, and has its own thermostat and a half bathroom. This 2,600 sq ft home sits on a 26,000 sq ft yard with a bluff just 12 feet above a mile-long stretch of beach on the Chesapeake Bay. The expansive bay view stretches about seven miles across to Taylors Island on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay. The water remains shallow to 60 ft out with small waves - great for kids. We have spectacular sunrises, fishing from shore or jetty, beach fires, a 5 minute beach-walk to the Flag Harbor Yacht Haven. Watch large ships departing Baltimore harbor, and plenty of wildlife including herons, eagles, hawks and egrets. Bring along a kite for days when the wind is brisk! Descend the steps from our front yard to a mile of sandy beach, ideal for walking, lounging and playing in the sand. On the backside of the property you will find a private entrance to the beach where we keep the kayaks. You'll also find a large "Breezeway Bench" overlooking the ravine and stream where the water flows from the village down to the bay. The stream flow creates a most interesting spot on the beach for making sand castles. We love to lap swim when the conditions are right - bring along your goggles just in case! Our ground floor features a sun room with mini refrigerator and French doors to access the yard overlooking the bay; living room with two desks, 55" smart tv (Xfinity cable tv app, Netflix, Amazon Prime) with surround sound; a half bath; the well-stocked kitchen and dining room. The downstairs master bedroom with king-size bed also has a beach and bay view, private full bathroom and kitchenette. On the first upper level we have two large bedrooms (both with king-size beds) and a shared full bathroom. Both upstairs bedrooms have their own sinks, and the north-facing bedroom has its own commode too (a half bath). Both bedrooms have access to the rooftop patio. Bring along your yoga mats for a morning practice with the sunrise! On the second upper level we have an attic bedroom which may be added to your base reservation for $70/person/night and features a queen-size bed, three singles, a trundle, and a half bathroom. This rate is firm for attic guests #1 and #2 but is negotiable for attic guests #3-#6. Our main kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking adventures so bring along your food provisions to prepare meals. We have a gas grill and double crab cooker in front of our detached garage. You can buy locally-caught crabs from 'Chesapeake's Bounty' farmer's market in our village where they also sell fresh, local produce and other seasonal fish. Have a crab feast on our picnic table overlooking the bay! Enjoy the fire-pit and two hammocks on the bluff which overlooks the bay. Our beach is private with neighborhood access only. No lifeguards are on duty. Neighbors may access the beach via the stairs at the distant side of our parking circle. You have a private entrance to the beach on the backside of the house where you'll find the kayaks, rowboat and two outdoor closets holding 6 chairs, an umbrella and plenty of sand toys. Our attic bedroom sleeps 6 and features a queen-size bed, three twins, a trundle, and a half bathroom. Please, no access to the attic space unless you have added it to your booking for an additional $70/person/night beyond the base price (which includes 3 bedrooms with king beds, sleeps 6 max). Calvert Beach is quiet, restricted to neighborhood access only. We have a path at the distant side of our parking circle that runs from the street to the beach stairs which provides neighborhood access to the beach. Calvert Beach is a well-kept secret, so close to DC, a little slice of heaven. We are 20 minutes north of Solomons Island, and 15 minutes south of the town of Prince Frederick. Our village has a farmer's market “Chesapeakes Bounty” with fresh local produce and seafood, two restaurants (Asian cuisine and tavern food), a Dollar Store for small grocery items, a FASTOP gas station with the best chicken around, liquor store, and an antique market 'Timeless Antiques and Collectibles'. Ten minutes north is a fabulous comfort food restaurant -- Adam’s Ribs -- and one of the area’s finest seafood restaurants -- Jerry’s Place. Twenty minutes south is the quaint village of Solomon’s Island, MD, with loads of restaurants, shopping and museums. 15 minutes north is the town of Prince Frederick, MD. See our extensive Guidebook for more information. Parking is provided on the circular driveway for a maximum of 3 cars. Please don't park on the upper half of the circle along the fence because neighbors walk along that easement to access the beach stairs. If your group includes more than 6 people or if you need more than the 3 bedrooms with 3 king beds included in our base price, you may add the second upper level, the attic space, for up to 6 additional guests at a rate of $70/person/night or $103/person/night for February power plant outage workers. This rate is firm for attic guests #1 and #2 but is negotiable for attic guests #3-#6. The attic features a queen bed, three twin beds, a trundle, armoire, and has its own thermostat and half bath. No unauthorized guests are allowed due to liability concerns. Any guests beyond the number listed on your itinerary will be charged a penalty of $100 per person per night. We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if you exceed your reservation's number of declared guests. Guests agree to adhere to the Liability Waiver* provided at the end of my House Manual regarding the use of watercraft and swimming. Please review the House Manual in your reservation details upon booking, and send along a note of approval in the Airbnb messaging platform. If there's any reason you can't approve our House Manual and liability waiver, you will have 48 hours from the time of booking to cancel your reservation penalty-free.
