Located in the Catskills, this beautiful 3 bedroom, 4, bed, 2 bath secluded property by a brook is a peaceful, private escape. You'll have serenity at home, with the exciting tourist destinations of Woodstock, Hunter Mountain and Phoenicia just minutes away. With hiking trails, golf courses, ski resorts and world class dining, the Catskills provide family friendly recreational opportunities all year long! This home has 3 outdoor decks, a fire pit and large living space to gather the family! The open floor plan gives you lots of room to spread out. The great room with high A-frame ceiling has a cozy pellet stove and an enormous window. You can dine and BBQ or relax on the large 2nd story porch, and spot deer and turkeys (and an occasional bear), as well as a large variety of birds, including Barred Owls. Or you can lounge in comfy rockers on the patio below, with a lively fire going in the fire pit. The kitchen is well stocked with condiments and spices, and great pans for the cooking inclined folks. There are bikes that can be borrowed in the shed, and a basketball net. Stroll down to the river for a beautiful hike through the woods, or cozy up next to the pellet stove and watch the snow fall. The entire house is yours - we just keep the basement and garage private. We are always available if anything comes up! No third party bookings accepted. The guest who books must be intending to come to be a guest, and only guests listed in booking are permitted (max 6, including children). Quiet neighborhood. House is situated near the end of a dead-end road on the top of a high hill, and 2 acre property abuts State Park land. Neighbor's houses are hidden from view by the surrounding trees. Lots of privacy, next to a beautiful all-year creek. Close to the Ashokan Reservoir, there are countless bike trails, hiking trails to sensational mountain views, and swimming holes in rivers and mountain lakes. Add to that antique stores, restaurants, and quaint neighboring towns, there's lots do! Check out www.ulstercountyalive for events. Only a 5 minute drive to a grocery store, post office, pharmacy, liquor store, and Bread Alone bakery. While you could potentially call a taxi, the BEST way to get around is by your own car. Watch the winter months, as the house is in the Catskill mountains. Make sure you have a car with 4-wheel drive or snow tires if snow is expected. While the driveway and road are regularly plowed, things can still be slippery. We are a family who love to welcome other families to our home! Parties, especially with unregistered guests, are not allowed. No smoking, no pets.
