This Lakefront cottage is the perfect getaway for total relaxation from everyday life. It is nestled in the woods high off the ground with a perfect view of the Lake and its very own road that leads to a landing with beautiful up close views of the Lake and a great place to have a fire and take in the views, due to unprecedented lake levels and shoreline erosion there is no beach access to the lake this year only viewing. A brief back history on the cottage, it was built in 1920 by the town doctor and has a deep rich history. The doctor built this cottage to escape the everyday demands of his work life with one simple thought in mind which was total seclusion. The inside has the original stone fireplace that was hand built from rocks along the shoreline. The floor plan is a one floor cottage with 2 bed rooms (brand new beds as of May 2018), one bathroom and a large living room/kitchen. There are two French doors that lead out to a deck that overlooks the Lake and the running streams below the cottage. Relax on the deck and enjoy the cool breeze from the lake or take a walk down the stone steps below the cottage to the private road leading to a natural bluff landing that has panoramic views of the lake with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. ****Typically there is beach access but due to the high water levels on the lake and severe bluff erosion we unfortunately CANNOT create a road to the beach this year*****We have three amazing beaches located in town just 5 minutes from the cottage. Freeport Beach (Life guard on duty, playground, and concession stand), and 20 mile park beach (no life guard, and more secluded park along the banks of 20 mile stream and Lake Erie also one of the best steelhead fishing streams in Pennsylvania) all information will be provided upon booking. Shades beach in Harborcreek, PA Only 10 minuets down the road has a boat launch, sandy beach, and a sand volleyball court.
