Close to freeways and bridges taking you to Marin County, the wine country, Sacramento, and of course to San Francisco. Public transportation to everywhere starting with a local bus to BART and now ferry service to SF! Golden Gate Transit stops here and takes you across the bridge to Marin County. Point Richmond is a quaint and friendly community. It is surprising how many people in the Bay Area have never heard of it! It is aptly called "the hidden city." Because it's a true community, there are events going on regularly such as an outside music festival in the summer and acoustic music events in an indoors area. We, the owners live next door and are happy to make your stay as pleasant as possible without intruding. Maps, menus, and suggestions are available in the cottage. Got questions? We've got answers. For your information, the cancellation policy is "Long Term." Please check with AirBnB for what that means. We encourage guests to go through the cupboards to see what supplies are available. There are condiments, canned goods, cleaning supplies, extra linens, etc. Guests should also read through the binders we've provided for them with info on restaurants, sightseeing, etc. There is also a binder with instructions for using appliances, cleaning pots & pans, etc. We've collected maps, public transit info, and brochures to assist you in enjoying your stay. We live next door to our guests. Our intent is to be available if there are any questions or problems. We also may see each other incidentally when outside. However, it is up to the guests to indicate their interest in speaking with us more. We love the amazing convenience of everything without having to get in a car, the friendliness of the small community, the weather, and the beauty of the buildings and the natural settings. Because we have our own downtown, there are many special activities--which are advertised on posters in shop windows and on sandwich boards. Within a short walk there are bus stops in Point Richmond--two for the local AC Transit bus and one for Golden Gate Transit. The AC Transit bus will take you to BART and shopping at Hilltop, etc. Golden Gate Transit will take you to Marin County. And now we have a ferry from the Ford Craneway to the Ferry Building in San Francisco by the Embarcadero and Market Sts. There is parking available. The voyage takes 35 minutes! California is going through a drought. Therefore, any water usage needs to be considered. This includes, but not limited to, length of showers, dripping water, washing small loads in the washing machine, and also electricity use. Washing cars at the property is strictly forbidden.
