Room #3 (Spacious Mountain View) at The Colonial Guest Rooms has two queen sized beds with clawfoot tub/shower and is in a perfect central location in the heart of Burnsville, NC. You can easily walk to the shops downtown, take a drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains, or just enjoy quiet time on the hill. *Disclaimer- This room is our most unique with 100 year old antique tub & sink. Due to this, there are some very minor natural stains on both, but we assure you they are extremely clean :)* Newly Renovated! BRAND NEW flooring & paint! Welcome to the Colonial Guest Rooms, the best-kept secret in Burnsville, NC. This relaxing getaway in the fresh mountain air has everything you need to rest and recharge. The Colonial Guest Rooms is a special place for the Banks family. The late Ruth Banks, our mother and grandmother, grew up in this house and in the mid 1980’s decided to convert the upper level rooms (Rooms 1, 2 and 3) into Guest Rooms for visitors, friends, and family alike. She had a passion for making Burnsville, NC a true Mountain gem, and her mission was to show the utmost hospitality to all of her guests, making visitors feel as if Burnsville was truly a “home away from home” during their stays here. Her request before her passing was that we keep the Guest Rooms open to all who want to come and experience Burnsville and hopefully fall in love with the tiny town she worked so hard to cultivate. We plan to do just that! Each room has a private entrance from the external stairs as well as a private bathroom. Lexi and her husband live in the bottom level of the home. They look after the house and are always available. Also, the Banks family lives next door to the Colonial Guest Rooms if anything comes up and you need immediate assistance should Lexi be away from the home. Across the street there is a local food truck, Carolinas Empanadas, with delicious to-go food and Cuban coffee. Just a short walk up the hill to Burnsville's Town Square, there are many places to eat and drink. Some of our favorites include The Garden Deli, SnapDragon, Appalachian Java, Cast Iron Kitchen, Second Home and Homeplace Brewery (a full brewery with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating) that also serves food by Hog Hollow Pizza. The Colonial Guest Rooms is located on Main Street in Burnsville, NC. You can easily walk or take a quick drive less than a half-mile to the picturesque Burnsville Town Square with many dining and shopping venues. You can also take a drive to Mount Mitchell, the highest mountain East of the Mississippi, or onto the Blue Ridge Parkway. Asheville, NC, is one of the most interesting and growing communities in the South and is only a 35-minute drive away as well!
