The cabin is surrounded by forest, with a large yard including a fire pit. We enjoy meeting new people and sharing information on how they can make the most of their Montana experience while at the same time respecting their privacy. Though out of sight of the property, we live within easy walking distance of the property and are always available to answer any questions or be of assistants to our guests should they desire it. While taking a private stroll down by the creek or sitting on the front porch or deck in these quiet surroundings watching the wildlife with not another soul in sight, you get the feeling of really being away from it all. Yet, with just a short drive to Kalispell, and all its modern conveniences you truly have the best of both worlds. The location is ideal for day trips to explore the many local attractions including Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake , The Jewel Basin, Whitefish and more. Your hosts, with over 24 years experience in the area, are always happy to share their local knowledge. Anything from the best nearby fishing spots to the best wild huckleberries picking areas, they are a wealth of information on the best the valley has to offer. So whether you are looking for whitewater rafting, dates of the latest Native American Pow Wow or just looking for the best pizza in town, we can point you in the right direction. Your host, Montana artist John Moffatt, has long had a deep admiration and respect for Native American cultures and for the way of life of the American Mountain Men. This has motivated him to research, study and add to the preservation of their traditional crafts through his art. His dedication to authenticity in the designs, materials used and the quality in his work has earned him wide spread recognition. John's art is housed near the property in a small log cabin built by the artist himself. It is open to the public by appointment only.
