Set among the foothills of the rolling Ozark mountains, our place is full of romantic southern charm. Home to woodland trails, bluffs and hidden gardens. ~The Farm We are delighted to introduce you to The Farm. Brayberry: the makings of a memorable relaxing retreat. Set among the foothills of the rolling Ozark Mountains, Brayberry Farm boasts romantic southern charm. Home to woodland walks, bluffs and hidden gardens; the setting provides the perfect backdrop for some much needed seclusion, rest and relaxation. From the moment you arrive you will experience the peacefulness and tranquility for which we are known…blending comfortable informality and southern charm from bygone days. Our farm is home to miniature donkeys, ducks, chickens, 3 cats, a dog named Sister and a pond full of beautiful Koi. We are very private and secluded. If settling in and enjoying a little solitude is what you are in need of you will find it here. Relax and recharge…walk the woodland trails…help us with chores. We love to share our animals with folks. You’ll be welcome to visit with our donkeys or maybe even drive one! Pick seasonal fruit when available (apricots, apples, pears, blueberries, jujubes, figs and wild muscadines). Of course, horses are welcome to visit too! Free use of our arena is included in your stay. HORSE POLICY: Current negative coggins required. Fee per day: $10 we feed, free if you feed. (You are expected to “clean up” after your horse before leaving) ~The Cabin Very private and rustic. A relaxing and secluded cabin in the woods at the end of one of the woodland trails. An ideal retreat for those seeking refuge from a hectic lifestyle. Relax and recharge. Coffee and limited snacks are available. There is a grocery store 10 minutes away and you are welcome to prepare meals in the cabin. There is a television for those that find it impossible to unplug completely. No internet access, sorry. Folks report using their phone hot spot with no trouble. The cabin contains one bedroom with a double bed. There is a sleeper sofa in the common area. The loft contains two twin mattresses for older children. ~The Area Recreation opportunities abound in the surrounding area with canoeing and swimming on Big Piney Creek, fishing and skiing at nearby Lake Dardanelle, and a trail system at Moccasin Gap Horse Trail that is open not only to horses, but also to hikers, bicycles, motorcycles, and ATVs. Hunting and camping are popular activities in the Ozark National Forest just north of Dover. There are a number of waterfalls in Pope County and surrounding counties such as Petit Jean Falls in Conway County, Little Missouri Falls near Salem, Haw Creek Falls near Pelsor north of Dover, Eden Falls on Arkansas 43, and Falling Water Falls near Ben Hur. You’ll discover our area has much to offer and time spent in the River Valley is well worth it. From bass fishing tournaments and state parks to historic landmarks, nature and endless recreation – all within a short drive. There is canoeing close by (rent or bring your own), horseback riding, hiking, hunting, hang gliding, rock climbing, cave exploring and some of the best fishing in the state. If you love the outdoors then you’ll love it in central Arkansas. We are 20 minutes from Lake Dardanelle, 30 minutes from Mt. Nebo and approx.. 45 minutes from Petit Jean Mtn and 50 minutes from Mount Magazine. Arkansas Tech University and ANO are nearby. The cabin is such a private place to unwind and relax...we get that. If it's a low key, no frills, get-outta-town hideaway you are looking forward to, rest assured we will not bother you. However, if you choose to meander through the farm and visit with the animals, we are happy to visit and show you around...we may even put you to work! There's a lot of mucking on a donkey farm and we will never turn down an extra hand. The golf cart will be at your disposal to come and go between the farm and the cabin. Please note that our place is not for the wifi-dependent. It is a rural, quiet place to unplug and simply enjoy nature. For those unable to un-plug completely, guests have reported using 'hotspot' on their phones (ATT & Verizon work in our area - we are unable to recommend other carriers).
