Inviting COVID vaccinated guests to relax for a while or go exploring in our town, which has been in existence for over 160 years. My house is a cozy, mid-century ranch-style where guests can relax in the living room, sunroom or on a small deck overlooking the garden. There is no TV in this room but you're welcome to watch it in the family room. Ample parking. No pets please. My little dog isn’t real friendly with other pets, just people. This room is fairly large, with 2 rocking chairs to relax in, decorated in a Victorian theme. There is no TV in this room, but I have books and magazines to read. Not enough of them? Just ask, I have many on the history of Ferndale. Should you need 2 beds I have another guests room. Check out "Bacca's Den". It's possible it may be available. You will have your own private bathroom just a door away, I serve a breakfast between 7:30 and 9 am. It consists of fruit, yogurt, juice, toast/muffins, coffe and tea. You choose the time convenient for you. I have another guest room that maybe occupied the same time as you are visiting. You may possibly be sharing breakfast with the other guests during your stay. This is a wonderful way to meet new people. I have received both of my Covid shots and had no cases of the virus prior to getting them. I abide by the COVID rules. I will wear a mask whenever guests are near if you prefer. I also try to distance myself. I’ve disinfected the premises where my guests would be in. I live on the premises, so I will be there to welcome my guests. I also have a small dog who likes to meet people. She will bark a lot but eventually settles down. I will also be available to interact with them and share my knowledge of the history of our town. My goal is to make my guests feel welcome and hoping they will feel like they are visiting family. A very quiet neighborhood that makes for a good nights sleep. You may hear an occasional fire siren or some crickets, but not terribly often. The siren blows at 12 noon, letting everyone know it’s lunchtime. I have a lot of parking space so you’ll be able to park directly in front of my house Don't be surprised if you see deer roaming the neighborhood, or raccoons and opossums at night. They’re always looking for flowers and shrubs to eat. They seem to like these better than wild vegetation. Ferndale is a small town so walking is a good way to see what we have to offer. Victorian architecture and lovely gardens are the favorites. I live a few blocks from main st. and coffee lounges, and shopping. Our cemetery is one of the favorite places for visitors to walk through. It dates back to 1868, and there are so many beautiful headstones from that period of time. Russ park is also a favorite for hikers. Don’t miss our Ferndale Museum located on Shaw Ave. While visiting our town you should know that we have a lot of things that are interesting to everyone. One of the favorites is the Ferndale Cemetery, which was established in 1868. It a Protestant cemetery and you will find many duplicate names, originating from Denmark, as well as common Ango-Saxo names. Walking through the neighborhoods you will see beautiful Victorian homes that were built in the late 1800's into the 1900's. We are 5 miles from the ocean, halfway between the north and south redwoods, and gateway to the lost Coast. Our main street, with a variety of shops and restaurants, reveals happy friendly people, in a peaceful secluded Valley.
