Between each stay, protocols include cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces (light switches, doorknobs, cabinet handles, remotes, etc.). *** Herman's Hideaway is a two-bedroom apartment apartment on the third floor of an historic building in St. Louis' grand Tower Grove East neighborhood, near Compton Heights. Herman's Hideaway sleeps up to four. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a large gas range, frost-free refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Before your arrival, Herman's Hideaway will be stocked with welcome teas and treats, freshly roasted coffee, and light breakfast foods to start your stay. You'll also find a range of cleaning supplies that you're welcome to use and complimentary toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner, Q-Tips, etc.). To keep our rates low, we don't replenish these items during your stay. Herman's Hideaway is on the third floor, and accessible only by stairs. The apartment had dedicated internet service and fast WIFI, and a smart TV with an antenna for local stations and Roku for your streaming subscriptions. Dynamic pricing ensures competitive rates. State lodging taxes apply to stays of less than 30 nights and City lodging taxes apply to stays of less than 32 nights. SF Shannon offers weekly and monthly discounts, which are applied at the time of booking. Sorry, while we all love them, we do not allow pets at the Herman's Hideaway. Smoking is prohibited. Upon making a reservation, you will be asked to sign an electronic document to confirm your understanding of SF Shannon's payment and cancellation schedule and policies. Read what it says on the "Vacation Rental Policies" tab of SF Shannon's website. Parking is free and on-street in front of the building that's home to Herman's Hideaway. In warmer weather, sit outside and enjoy the fountain and garden in the Evelyn's gated courtyard. From this location it is easy to walk, bike or take public transit to the best of St. Louis. The Gateway Arch and Downtown St. Louis are less than four miles from the Evelyn. The world-renowned Missouri Botanical Garden is a delightful walk, through some of the city's finest historic neighborhoods. St. Louis University Medical Center is within walking distance. The main campus of St. Louis University is two miles north. Washington University's main campus is about seven miles from the Ullrich Suite. Barnes Hospital & Washington University Medical Center is four miles from the apartment. Numerous restaurants and magnificent historic parks are within walking distance. Since all of SF Shannon's vacation rental apartments are in the historic core of St. Louis, we occasionally receive the question: “Is it safe?” This question is impossible to answer, because we typically know nothing about the person asking it. The co-owners live within walking distance of each SF Shannon vacation rental. Rachel, Karen and their spouses have raised their families in their respective neighborhoods, and have always felt perfectly safe. Herman's Hideaway is named after Herman Ullrich, who built the building with his brother, and owned a bakery on the first floor.
