Shearwater a uniquely charming Maine cottage near the rocky coast

Lovely and graced with vintage charm, as well as all of the modern conveniences, you need only step outside the front door to find endless opportunities to explore, hike, bike, swim or just breathe in the ocean air and refresh. This location is "over the top" family friendly! Shearwater cottage is a 5 minute stroll to the white sands of Pemaquid beach. There you'll find more of the Atlantic (yes the big ocean). Beachcomber nature center offering conservation based activities for young minds, The Minnow - a sassy little seaside beach shack as well as lots and lots of sand and lingering sunsets. Historic Fort William Henry and Pemaquid Harbor are 1 mile from our doorstep and provide access to ocean kayaking, pier fishing and some of the areas best restaurants (ie The Contented Sole) rolls anyone? Another 5 minute car ride and you'll reach New Harbor, Hardy Boat cruises, the lighthouse, the local golf course, cool little shops, antiquing and art galleries. This four bedroom three and a half bath beauty was recently built with an authentic Maine vibe and comfort in mind. Two levels of "shiplapped" charm include an open living area with vaulted ceiling and lots of windows~an invitation to natural light and views of the beautiful secluded wood setting. The kitchen was created for chefs on vacation by chefs (unfortunately not on vacation..) two decks, a walk out basement with entertainment system and game room. There's more to enjoy on the outside including a grill, fire pit, horseshoe pit, and of course everyone's favorite-cornhole! Oh and we also include a view of the Milky Way and ten billion stars (quite likely but not guaranteed.) Standard good things: 100% cotton bedding and towels, green cleaning products, wifi, washer and dryer, awesome sound system, really big ceiling fans in all rooms, basic pantry supplies inc. flour, spices, cooking oil, twice weekly recycling & trash pickup, 3 beachcomber bicycles, 4 beach chairs, maps (shhhh) to our favorite super secret hiking trails. Ocean breezes and crashing surf also available but subject to the whims of Mother Nature....
