You can feel safe: There is a 72-HOUR "REST PERIOD" for the B&B between guests, followed by our CLEANING AND DISINFECTING PROTOCOL* outlined below. You have reserved private parking, by your private entrance, with keyless entry and no face-to-face contact required with the hosts. A new MERV 13 air filter is installed in the B&B air conditioning and heating system prior to each guest's arrival. MERV stands for “Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values,” which report a filter's ability to capture larger particles between 0.3 and 10 microns (µm). MERV 13 air filters can filter out bacteria and viruses that can cause infections. The typical application of MERV 13-16 filters is for hospital use. Built in 1939, the San Diego Bed and Breakfast in North Park is a luxurious second-story suite that overlooks the garden below. The airy 700 square-foot guest house -- including a living room, bedroom, full kitchen and full bath -- is furnished with your comfort in mind. Its North Park location has been listed by Bloomberg as one of the "hippest neighborhoods" in the US. It's just a short walk to San Diego's best restaurants, breweries, bars and cafes and only a 3-minute drive to the 805 Freeway, and a 5-minute drive to the 5 Freeway and Downtown. Established in 2005, the San Diego Bed & Breakfast has returned from its 10-year hiatus. It is one of only about 10 B&B's in San Diego that has received its neighborhood use permit under the city's previously rigorous zoning and permitting restrictions. It has been purposely and lovingly designed and renovated with the express purpose of giving guests a wonderful environment, experience and memories. As a permitted Bed and Breakfast, the refrigerator and kitchen cabinet are stocked with everything you need for a delicious continental breakfast throughout your entire stay, and you can make cappuccinos with the Nespresso machine or enjoy fresh ground coffee with the Cuisinart coffee machine. From your private parking space -- where parking is at a premium in North park -- you will use your private entrance into the garden and ascend the steps to the B&B. In the living room you can enjoy the luxury of the leather recliner for experiencing the 40-inch 4K HDTV and Bose home theater system. The teak desk is flooded light and you look through the canopy of the 60-foot Ash tree. Ultra high-speed wireless Internet access allows you to work anywhere. You will awaken refreshed on the queen-sized luxury firm mattress and microfiber sheets. And for reading or watching the 55-inch 4K HDTV in bed, the padded leather headboard provides firm, luxurious support. For streaming high-definition movies or shows, Netflix is provided on both HDTV's. Enjoy 100% cotton luxury bath-towels along with terrycloth robes. And for longer stays, you may decide to cook in the full kitchen, with a quick stroll to the neighborhood market to find just the right ingredients and a nice wine. The guesthouse is above the former garage, which is now unoccupied and used only for storage, so it is your own, private retreat. But while you may enjoy entire days lounging in the B&B, a wonderful collection of North Park restaurants, breweries, bars and cafes are within a five minute walk, including some of the best coffee, street tacos, fresh brewed beer and Italian food you may ever find. The San Diego Bed and Breakfast is remarkable on its own, but with its unique North Park location, you experience an entire environment. And you may find that you slip so easily into this environment, which is on such a human scale, that it begins to feel like home in a fresh, connected and integrated way. *CLEANING & DISINFECTING PROTOCOL The B&B "rests" for a minimum of 72 hours after each guest check-out. The reservation calendar has been blocked for an additional 3 days after each guest check-out to allow for this. During this "rest period", no one enters the B&B. After 72 hours, the Cleaning and Disinfecting Protocol is followed. Before each guest checks in, the San Diego Bed & Breakfast Cleaning Protocol includes thorough and extensive cleaning and disinfecting – using Lysol, Clorox and other antibacterial disinfectants – on the following: - All door handles, cabinet knobs and drawer handles - Countertops and glass table surfaces - Lamp and light fixture switches - Wall switches - Wireless phone chargers - Apple Watch chargers - TV and other electronics remotes - Window blinds controls – adjustment rod handles and pull-string handles - Floors - Faucet spouts and controls - Sinks - Bathroom hardware, fixtures, accessories and accessory handles - Toilet surfaces and flush handle - Bathtub/shower - Kitchen appliances, surfaces and controls Laundering is with hot water using laundry soap 100% free of perfumes and dyes for the following: - Towels - Bathrobes - Linen tablecloth and napkins - All bedding, from mattress pad and cover to double-cased pillows (which are cased in a hypo-allergenic cover) Dishes, flatware, glasses and cooking utensils are washed with hot water and antibacterial soap. Leather recliner and couch are wiped down and cleaned thoroughly. The innkeeper and family follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for washing hands.
