Camp Pepin's JJ Saul Cabin - Fall asleep to the Rippling Waters of Lake Pepin
This is the ultimate camper cabin located on the beach, yes grandfathered in on the zoning, you are right on the water in this beautiful half wall and screen cabin with huge sliding windows to catch the breeze and the sound of the waves rolling on to the beach. We are a summer camp on Deer Island, Camp Pepin, that is not running camp this year and this is our business for summer 2020- letting you enjoy the summer camp life! With backwoods trails, disc golf, family games in the field by the lake and bonfires for your group right by your cabin. This cabin does not have plumbing, so your bathroom is the bath house 100 yds across our well manicured lawn to the Lower Dining hall. The bath house has 5 bathroom stalls and 4 showers, and a bank of 5 sinks with mirrors. This bathhouse is is a community bath house to be shared with other guests camping on site. For those of you that know and love JJ, built over 50 years ago, we have pulled out bunks on the east side and have a sweet spot for lounging on the couch or sitting at a large table to play cards. This is a camper cabin and you will have a designated fire pit, just for your group overlooking the lake, a picnic table and we will have a barrel cooler of water ready to go for you. Remember to bring your camp stove for outside, a grill is a great item to bring, and you may plug in a hot plate or electric griddle to cook as well. If you are more interested in a cabin with full walls that is a little more closed up, Bergwall cabin is your option. You will have access to the canoes, kayaks and paddleboards as well. Make sure to bring a life jacket, as we have many childrens jackets to choose from however if you are 150 lbs or more, we have a smaller selection. You may drive across the lawn to unpack your vehicle and we have parking for you on the black top parking lot. There is a boat landing just down the street on Deer Island and we have room for you to part your trailer on site. Our dock is day use only and only has room for one boat, our beach is expansive and you can beach for the day, it is not recommended overnight or in high winds as the waves can build and pummel the shore. The eagles, deer, foxes and even otter are active in our area. And yes, the baby mallards were hatched here again.
