Private, Bluff-Top Cottage Above Mississippi River

This charming, remodeled cottage is conveniently located between Grafton and Alton, IL on top of the bluff, high above the Mississippi River and the Great River Road. This 2 bedroom cottage is in a private, woodland setting perfect for your bird and wildlife viewing. We have seen many eagles, turkey and deer. Although there is not WiFi in the house, there is a WiFI and River viewing area close by. The Lane House has 2 bedrooms located on the second floor with a queen bed in each room. The stairs are steep, therefore not handicap accessible. There is one bathroom which is on the main floor. The kitchen has a brand new stove and refrigerator and is equipped with everything you would need for a perfect stay (dishes/glasses/silverware, pots & pans, utensils, mixer, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, etc.). There is a dining room and a generous living room with a tv and dvd player. If needed, a washer and dryer is available. Central Air was added in 2018 and there is a window unit upstairs as well. The whole house is available to you. Talk about Beautiful, there is a "River Viewing" area set up just a short walk from the house. Bring your camera, cell phone, binoculars, etc. I will be available if you have any questions or needs. There are 4 total homes on Thompson Lane of which 3 are private homes and must be respected as such. The Lane House is the only home that is an Airbnb home. It is down a lane from the other homes and therefore is very private. Park your car at the bottom of our hill and you are at the Sam Vadalabene Bike Trail which runs from Alton, IL to the southeast or Grafton, IL to the northwest (bike or walk/run). Check-in is 3 pm - 9 pm and Check-out is 10 am. No pets allowed. If you stay for 1 wk. or more, a 10% discount will be given. If you stay for 30 days or more, a 15% discount will be given.
