The Shaggy Parasol

Welcome to the Shaggy Parasol (named after a type of mushroom), our 2nd floor carriage house apartment in Historic Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, the mushroom capital of the world! This is a comfortable, simple, centrally located apartment, walkable to all the charm Kennett Square has to offer- restaurants, historic sites, parks, festivals, special events and friendly people! This cute 2 bedroom, 1 bath airbnb is the perfect place for you to relax and take a moment to breathe! Enjoy :) The apartment is on the second floor of our carriage house. It is an old building, probably close to 150 years old. It is charming and simple, eclectically decorated. Guests can access the second floor of the carriage house as well as the grassy area outside where two turquoise chairs can be enjoyed. We live in the house right next to the Shaggy Parasol, and are home and available most of the time. We are happy to answer questions or chat but don't want to impose ourselves on our guests. Kennett Square is located in Chester county, about an hour from downtown Philadelphia and 20 minutes from Wilmington, Delaware. Best to walk around, but you can also bike or use a car to get around. Even thought the address of the Shaggy Parasol is 332A S. Broad street, the entrance is on Sycamore Alley, between Juniper Alley and E. Mulberry street. There is free parking on both sides of E. Mulberry street between S. Union and S. Broad, and there are usually spots available- we do not offer parking on site. There is also parking on our block of S. Broad. It is free on weekends as well as between 4:00 pm and 10:00 am. There is a parking garage on N. Union right past State street as well. There is no parking for guests on Sycamore Alley where the Shaggy Parasol is located. We do allow dogs but we ask that they be completely housebroken, do not bark excessively and do not get up on the furniture. We will leave extra sheets to cover the furniture in the event that the dog is alone for a period of time. We will also leave lint rollers.
