Up North Michigan The Cottage Cheese Mullett Lake

Stay at the Cottage Cheese for all of your northern Michigan adventures! It is located 10 minutes from downtown Indian River, 15 minutes from Cheboygan and about 30-40 minutes from Petoskey, Harbor Springs, the Mackinac Bridge, Gaylord and Lake Huron. Enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking & boating (public boat launch & beach) as well as hiking nearby on state land. Head to Indian River for ice cream, candy shop, restaurants and local shopping. Several places offer rentals & water tours. We added two wall AC units this summer (2018) so you can enjoy sunny days without overheating! Our cottage sits on the corner lot at the base of hill across from a wooded lot and a church. While not a main road, the street is busy and due to the steep incline, you can hear higher speed traffic. We love the location and find it relaxing and peaceful even with some traffic. We bike, run and use our golf cart and have never had a problem. It's very much a vacation community. We DO NOT have a dishwasher! The dining room table extends to fit 6 people. The additional leaves are in the TV room closet. Great basement for storing bikes, water stuff etc. for longer stays or for winter enthusiasts & snowmobilers. You have access to the full house. Owners not onsite but we do have several family members in the surrounding area. We are available by phone & text (usually down state.) Onsite property manager available, if assistance is needed. Communication We make every effort to respond to guest messages as quickly as we can and if you have an issue we are committed to fixing it ASAP. Please note that we are usually offline around 9pm EST so messages, calls and texts sent after that will be returned in the morning usually by 7:30am EST. If you have an emergency, please call 911. Walking distance to public boat launch & very clean beach, kids play area, 10+ mile walking/biking trail, Breakers Bar & Restaurant, Noka Cafe, and convenience store. Boat & kayak rental available in downtown Indian River. Ken's Supermarket and cute downtown shopping also in Indian River (10 minute drive.) Use gas grill at medium heat & below - high heat may melt the handle. If the tank is low, we have a spare in the basement. If you have more than 4 people, our water heater may take time to refill depending # and length of showers. We suggest staggering showers so that everyone has a enough hot water. Boat Parking - We have a third parking near the basement for a boat (up to 23 feet), trailer, jet skis or campers/RV vehicles (please email to confirm size).
