Historic Morrison Cabin is the oldest home in Lexington on its original foundation. It was built by John Morrison in 1787 when Kentucky was still a part of Virginia. John Morrison was one of Lexington's founders. He built the home for his wife, the first woman to live in Lexington. It is ideally located in historic Gratz Park, across the street from Transylvania University. Morrison Cabin has been meticulously restored, offering all modern amenities while maintaining its historical elegance and integrity. Guests will be just a few short blocks and within easy walking distance to the Lexington Convention Center, Opera House, Rupp Arena, and the best dining and nightlife Lexington has to offer. Free off street parking is available directly behind the cabin. The location offers convenient and easy access to Keeneland, the Kentucky Horse Park, The University of Kentucky, Commonwealth Stadium, Kentucky's famous horse farms and distilleries. Lexington is a hub with proximity to Cincinnati and Louisville and all things Derby. Upon request (and availability) our house chef can cater breakfast, dinner, or special events.
