A QUIET GETAWAY IN A SOLAR POWERED LOG CABIN ON A PRIVATE DEAD END ROAD. Our cabin in the beautiful, historic, vibrant, four season Northern Catskills is easily accessed from south or north on the NY Thruway. Ski slopes, the Hudson River, and so much more are close by. A no hassle lock box checks you in and out. We are a family/kids/baby friendly house but you must supervise your children!!! READ THE ENTIRE LISTING TO MAKE SURE THIS IS THE RIGHT HOUSE FOR YOU. And if it is, WELCOME! WE KEEP OUR CABIN VACANT FOR AT LEAST 2 DAYS BETWEEN GUESTS FOR YOUR SAFETY. THE PRIMARY HEAT SOURCE IN THE HOUSE IS A WOOD STOVE. Guests will have to be comfortable using a wood stove. Firewood and instructions provided. OUTSIDE. Enjoy the sunrise on the front porch swing; read a book or take a nap in the hammock; barbecue dinner on the back deck; share spooky stories or enjoy cocktails in the gazebo; tend the flower garden; build a bonfire in the fire circle. But most of all, enjoy how quiet it is here except for the sounds of nature THE HOUSE has all the cooking, sleeping and living space you need, including: A fully equipped KITCHEN with glassware, dishes, cookware and a dishwasher and microwave. For outdoor cooking, there is a gas grill on the back deck. A GREAT ROOM with a smart TV for streaming of HBO Max, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. There are 3 BEDROOMS. You will have plenty of clean linens, blankets, an assortment of pillows to make everyone comfortable, and a set of towels for every guest. BEDROOM 1 has a full size bed and a small desk and chair for work if needed. BEDROOM 2 has 2 twin beds. Bedroom 3 has a full size bed. If needed , a single or double air mattress is available. FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12 AND INFANTS, we have additional sleeping options and other amenities: a youth cot, a pack and play crib, a changing table, and a small seat that turns a chair into a high chair. ENTERTAINMENT: We have toys and books for babies and children. We have board games and books for children and adults. NOTICE: The house has a finished basement that is empty and not intended for guests' use with the exception of the washer and dryer that is in the laundry room downstairs. Under no circumstances should children go downstairs, with or without adults. You will have the entire house to yourself, including the front porch, back screened in porch, deck and gazebo. You will also have the use of the backyard and fire circle. Enjoy skiing, hiking, golfing, cycling, swimming, tubing, kayaking, fishing, hunting, and so much more. We are off the beaten track but convenient to so many places. The Hudson River and Catskill Point is 20 minutes away. Windham and Hunter Mountains are 30 minutes away. Catskill, Athens, Coxsackie and Hudson are close by and Tannersville, Saugerties, Woodstock, Kingston, Tivoli, Redhook, Rhinebeck, New Paltz and Albany are all 45 minutes away at most. Subject to coronavirus restrictions, two Drive-In Theaters and other vintage era local theaters in Greene and Columbia Counties are beckoning. Zoom Flume, a family-centered water park is 30 minutes away during the summer season. Several local festivals happen every year. Restaurants, of all types, are numerous and many serve local fare, sometimes with live music. Galleries, historic sites, live entertainment and antiques await your arrival. Join us for some Northern Catskills' fun! You will need a vehicle in this area. Two convenience stores are 10 minutes away. Several supermarkets are between 15 and 20 minutes away. The house is in a rural area and is surrounded by woods. You will need to decide if you are willing to stay in a house that is surrounded by birds, bugs, mice, squirrels, chipmunks, frogs, and other wildlife in the yard, as well as our neighbor's goats, sheep, guinea hens, chickens, and beagles. If you are unwilling to stay in a house with an occasional stink bug or spider, please do not book your stay with us.
