Big Fir Cottage B&B is a private two bedroom heritage cottage set on a peaceful four acre rural property. In its own world, yet close to all of the best of Salt Spring Island. Fully equipped, recently renovated, and comfortable. This south-facing get-away has everything a traveller needs. Nestled in a small forest clearing, this cozy cottage is your place for rest, restoration and transformation. A heat pump keeps cottage warm or cool as needed, wood burning fireplace as backup heat, television with cable and smart apps, landline telephone, parking for bikes and two cars, plus EV charging station. We provide a self-serve breakfast: eggs, bread, coffee, tea, milk, juice, butter, jam, yogurt and more. The entire cottage is yours to enjoy as well as the surrounding yard. On prior approval, Pets are welcome at $25 per pet, per stay. Please keep dogs off the bed linen/furniture and bring your own dog bed with you. Dogs must be attended at all times, in visual range and under control to protect wildlife and livestock. We are available during your stay if you have any questions or need anything, otherwise we give our guests as much privacy as they wish. Close to farms, coffee shops, galleries and 1km to beaches and the village of Ganges. Get to Salt Spring by ferry, boat, water taxi, or floatplane. Walking, cycling, cars, buses, taxis are all options to get around. Car rental is 1km away. We highly recommend that you make a reservation with BC Ferries if travelling from the mainland. Pets Pets OK only on prior approval - $25 per night per pet. Taxes Please note that under "taxes" in your invoice Airbnb collects and remits 8% Provincial Sales Tax (PST). In addition, we are required to collect and remit the 7% as "community fees" on your invoice.
