Small dogs are welcome with approval and an additional fee. Nob Hill Apartment is on the ground floor of a beautifully built and landscaped home in the village of Little Switzerland. It is completely separate and private from the upstairs house and visitors will rarely hear anyone else there. Access is easy from the Blue Ridge Parkway or 226A on paved road and driveway. There is ample parking with motion lights from parking space to apartment door to light your way at night. It is at 3500' elevation with a breathtaking view of the mountains and valley below. The apartment has two large picture windows to catch the morning sunshine on one side and enjoy the mountains on the other. Open the windows for glorious fresh air or use the new Carrier ductless (noiseless) cooling/heat unit. The windows have mini blinds and black out shades for dark slumber. The new kitchen is modern and spacious with everything you need for cooking. Full size refrigerator and lots of cabinets for an extended stay, dishwasher, garbage disposer, microwave, range, toaster, Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee, kitchenette table and chairs, countertop with two stools for computer workspace and washer/dryer. The bathroom is large with tub/shower, a sit down vanity with drawers and a large mirror, linen closet with linens, iron and board and hair dryer. Sleep well on the luxurious king size memory foam bed, relax in the love seat recliner to enjoy cable TV or provided DVD's on a BluRay player, or read a book in another recliner also comfortable enough to stretch out flat and nap. Large clothes closet with ample shelving, hangers, extra blanket and bed sheets, and two dressers for extended stays. Have your morning coffee or tea outside on table and chairs or chaise lounge enjoying the view and sounds of the birds. The ponds, landscaping and mountains soothe the soul! Gardens are available to view and enjoy but please be careful of uneven steps/pathways. This is a self check in unit. Most times the owner is not actually staying upstairs on the premises. Just steps away on our private wooded lane is casual outdoor dining, fine indoor dining, occasional live entertainment, lounge, outdoor gas lit fire pits, spa and quaint shops, all on the beautiful grounds of Switzerland Inn, a Swiss style chalet. A short walk from there takes you to the Switzerland Café and General Store, Books and Beans, and other small shops. Grassy Creek Falls is also within walking distance. Whether you want to kick back and relax from a hectic life or have a vacation filled with fun activities, this is your central location. Enjoy walking, hiking, golfing, Emerald Village gem mining, Linville Falls, Linville Caverns, The Apple Orchard, and the many and varied other things to do in the area. Motorcyclists are welcomed. Walmart is only 3 miles away. Past Walmart another few miles in Grassy Creek and Spruce Pine are all the necessaries for long term stays, including restaurants, shops, a regional hospital and other services. Asheville, and all it has to offer, is only a 60 to 70 minute drive. Grandfather Mountain, Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock are lovely day trips. So come and stay with us a short time or months.
