Guests will have access to a fully equipped kitchen, laundry and two full baths with tub and shower options. We are available in an emergency by cell and e-mail. Cider Haus is a short 5 minute drive on a paved road from the heart of Port Carling; a beautiful cottage community with the amenities you need. Restaurants, groceries, pharmacy, LCBO, ice cream, post office, and boutique shops. Enjoy a walk along the public docks in our little Muskoka town! Paved road, right up to the flat gravel driveway. Five minutes into town. Follow us on Insta! @cider.haus LINENS: All bath towels, beach towels, outdoor blankets, kitchen towels, and pillows are supplied. We ask that renters SUPPLY THEIR OWN BED SHEETS & DUVET/COMFORTER. GARBAGE & RECYCLING: Renter(s) are responsible for depositing all garbage and recycling in a regulated provincial dump. As wildlife love our food scraps, renters are also responsible for securing all garbage and food waste out of reach/smell of scavenging wildlife. The closest local waste landfill is located 12 minutes from the cottage; The Everleigh Waste Transfer Stations at 1174 Everleigh Rd, Port Carling. Please check their website for hours of operation. Any waste left at the cottage is subject to removal fees at the discretion of our cleaning service. Garbage pickup at the end of the cottage driveway occurs on Tuesday mornings. PARKING: There is ample free parking available at the property. Please do not park off of the gravel driveway. At the cottage, there is a NEMA 14-50 plug for charging electric vehicles and/or RVs; please let us know if you intend to use it so we can give you the padlock code. KEYPAD ACCESS: The keypad code will be the last 4 digits of the phone number used to secure this rental. This key code may be shared only with those people listed on the rental. WATERFRONT: The depth of the water off the end of the dock is approximately 4 feet. For your safety, please no diving or jumping from the dock/decks/rocks. FIREPLACE: An indoor wood burning fireplace is available to use year round. Instructions on how to use the fireplace are available in the cottage welcome binder. There is also an outdoor firepit for bonfires. You are welcome to use our wood if there is any left; but, if you do supply your own firewood, it must be purchased locally in Port Carling - wood cannot be brought in from out of town. BOATS/WATER TOYS: There are two kayaks and a canoe that can be added to the rental at a surcharge. You may dock your own watercraft (motorized or not) on the dock; however, you assume any and all liability for damage to your property and/or the property of the Owners, regardless of the cause. The boat launch for the lake is at the end of Pickerel lane. SAUNA: The sauna is available for guests to use. Please follow these rules: - Bathing suits must be worn - DO NOT SPLASH WATER ONTO THE STONES/HEATING DEVICE. It is an electric heater that must stay dry at all times to prevent damage or personal injury/shock. - Any children under 15yrs old need to be under the direct supervision of an adult 18+ while in the sauna. - Use of the sauna is at the discretion of the Renters only. If it is not safe for you to use for physical / medical reasons, we do not accept liability if you choose to use it. Please review safe use of saunas and signs of dehydration, and precautions for certain users, prior to entering the sauna. - Controlling the sauna is done via a timer knob on the bottom right of the unit. The heat control is another knob on the bottom left of the unit. More info can be found in the white welcome binder. - Caution: It’s hot. DRINKING WATER: The tap water source is from a well and is very thoroughly filtered. Therefore, it is safe to drink the tap water. We do NOT recommend drinking any water from hoses or the lake. In an effort to remain environmentally friendly, we encourage guests to bring re-usable water bottles rather than bottled water. PETS: Dogs may be permitted as long as approval has been granted during the booking process. The rental premises has a fenced yard that should contain most small and large breed dogs. We encourage you to inspect the perimeter of the fence prior to relying on it to keeping your pet safe. WIFI: The WiFi use is included in the cost of the rental (25 Mbps down, 5 Mbps up). Internet bandwidth in Muskoka is quite limited and is limited to 50GB per week – even for the fastest plans (which we have). For this reason, we ask that you do not stream any TV, movies or music while at the cottage. We recommend that this be downloaded at home or using free public WiFi available in-town. TV: There is a television with Bell satellite, and HDMI cable with USB-C and mini-DVI adapters to plug in any personal devices. LAUNDRY: A high efficiency (HE) washer and dryer are available for the Renters to use free of charge. Laundry soap is provided; if using your own detergent, please ensure is is HE. The laundry machines are located next to the kitchen in upright pantry doors, underneath the staircase. Please refer to instructions on the inside of the laundry cabinet for more detailed suggestions on how best to use the machines. SEPTIC: Our cottage is on a septic system. Only toilet paper and natural waste goes down the toilet, please! If you flush other items, they get clogged in the baffle and we have to go fish it out of the septic tank with our hands - it sucks. GUESTS: If you have friends visiting, it would be great to know who they are from a liability standpoint. If you could kindly message us their name, and if you know their license plate, that would be great. Thanks and enjoy your stay! - Rachel, Tyler, Stacie & Ty
