SEE PHOTOS With a private entrance and everything you need for your stay, our studio apartment is a great inexpensive place to unpack your stuff, get a good nights rest and have easy access to Chicago. The room has a double bed, making it comfortably suitable for one person, and workable for two. The ceilings are sloped, so guests over 6' tall may feel a little restricted. Access is via an exposed set of stairs and parking can be a little tight if we have a full house You're welcome to use the laundry facilities in our home, and should you care to, fire up the natural gas grill on our wrap around porch for a grilled lunch or dinner We like visiting with our guests but with your own private entrance you have the freedom to chose. Our home sits back on a 2.3 acre lot, and in the spring, summer and fall when the leaves are full, it's very secluded. We live on a long U-shaped street with little traffic at the edge of suburbia. You can walk 10 minutes and be in a little used forest preserve where you can explore the simple paths, enjoy the winding creek views, and most likely see a deer or two. Its about 2 miles into town where you can get a great cup of coffee, a pastry, and a breakfast or lunch sandwich at the edge coffee house, a craft beer at Evil Horse Brewery, an ice cream cone at the Cone Cottage, or sit down to a small town meal at one of 5 different eating establishments. If you're adventurous, you can walk to the corner and wait for the public bus which posts a schedule, but rarely meets it. Otherwise the Metra electric train that can take you into Chicago in about an hour, is about 5 minutes away by car. We are 10 minutes from two major expressways. Uber and Lyft are readily available. Please be aware that the room is small, cozy, and is normally furnished with a double (not a queen) bed. Ceilings are sloped, so may feel confining to those guests over 6' tall
