Cozy Cottage surrounded by picturesque forest

This rustic and simple one-room cottage was built around 1975 and was used as a fishing camp. We've taken it out of the deep woods and relocated it where it now overlooks the river of our 2 acre land. It's outfitted with electricity, ample kitchen and counter space with electric stove and sink. There’s a hot water heater! A sweet little shower for your pleasure as well. There’s no flushing toilet in the cottage there is an outhouse about 50 ft. or so from the cabin. The driveway is .5 miles long and is a maintained but sometimes pretty rugged dirt road. Four-wheel drive is not necessary in the summer time. The river is great for fishing and relaxing. Please take note that we allow fly fishing only with barbless hooks. I do just want to mention that the cabin is deep in the woods up a mountain, and hosts all the wilds have to offer. You may have glimpses of moose and mouse, frogs and flies; by the nature of living here we play host to them all. In the interest of full disclosure, I want you to know so that you are aware that critters are here in our area and sometimes in our living spaces. Just about everyone has embraced them so far but some who have not ventured in the woods before have become surprised to see a mouse which made them uncomfortable to be around. Please be the judge on this for your own creature comfort! Please be aware: We strongly believe honesty is the main key in this business. Our listing is not a 5 starts Four Seasons Hotel, we offer an affordable unit in rural Maine, if you are not able to understand this we encourage you to not book this listing. What we have in the listing is what we can offer, any item not in the unit we do not offer and therefor needs to be outsourced by the guest. This piece of Earth is a beautiful place for people to relax and play. Taking the hiking trail to the ledge overlook is awesome too and that is why I'd like to share this space with you. Come for a weekend, or come for a while. Escape civilization to this incredible and peaceful getaway! Reconnect with nature and disconnect from technology on your own private picturesque forest surrounded by pristine and untouched nature. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS LISTING if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. Understand you are surrounded by thousands of completely untouched nature. You are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, owls, seals, roadrunners, and bunnies. There is a bobcat in the area but these are usually very skittish. There are mice in the Maine Mountains. About once a month, a guest will complain that they saw a mouse. Said mouse might come into the cottage if food is left outside the fridge. We do not offer refunds if a mouse comes into the cottage but we do have 4 traps around the cottage so the odds are heavily stacked against the mice. A car is necessary to move around our cottage and our city. Please do not leave trash inside the cottage or near the property, we kindly ask to take the trash with you. We strongly recommend daylight arrival, the path to the cottage is not illuminated until the guest turn the lights on.
