Play 18 holes, explore the grounds, or cruise around in your golf cart (included with your stay) and take in the mountain views. From hiking to apple picking, there's something for everyone year-round! Upstairs you'll find a comfortable space with a spacious living room, two bedrooms, a full bath, and small kitchen. Note the pool season (Memorial Day-Labor Day) is now concluded. The pool is closed for the season, but fall foliage is here! Don't let the season pass you by! THE PROPERTY Welcome to the Winton Farm poolhouse! The property was home to Patrick Henry's mother, Sarah Henry, in the 1700s, and became a private club in the 20th century. As Winton's newest owners (as of 2019), we are excited to for the next chapter of this historic property, and to share its beauty with our guests! Today the property features the historic manor house (currently under renovation), the historic cemetery, an 18 hole golf course, pond for fishing, full-size swimming pool, and tavern, open daily for breakfast and lunch. THE POOLHOUSE The Airbnb is a private guest suite located on the second floor of the poolhouse. Please note that during the summertime, the pool is open daily for members, and while the upstairs suite is completely private, you will see members using the pool and the bottom floor of the poolhouse, where the bathrooms and concessions are located. Upstairs, we've renovated the space from top to bottom. Here's what you can expect when you stay with us: -Each bedroom has a queen bed with clean, fresh linens -Dresser in first bedroom, full closet in second bedroom for clothes storage -Air mattress available for additional guests -Leather sofa + additional seating in living room -55" Smart TV -Wireless Internet (note that we are in a rural area and can be spotty at times) -Table & chairs (seating up to 4) -Mini fridge, microwave and toaster -Pots, pans, and other kitchen essentials -Keurig machine, coffee and tea -Central HVAC -Pool towels and toys -Full bathroom including sink, toilet, and shower -Towels and linens provided PROPERTY AMENITIES At check-in, we'll set you up with a golf cart for use on the property during your stay. We encourage you to explore all that Winton has to offer! If you'd like to arrange a tee time, please mention it when booking. Pool use is complimentary (Memorial Day Weekend-late September), and while we have a lifeguard on duty during our open hours, you're also welcome to swim after hours at your own risk. Our staff is happy to facilitate special requests - just drop us a line and we'll try our best to accommodate. OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION The Winton pool season runs from Memorial Day to late September. The suite is directly above the poolhouse bathrooms and check-in station, so you can expect to see members coming and going from the area, as well as hear music/voices from the pool deck during operating hours. After pool season ends, the fall fun begins! Winton is located amidst the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains. As the weather cools down, you can enjoy a beautiful hike, go apple picking, visit a winery, and see the foliage change around you. The suite is accessible via an outdoor set of stairs and is not handicap accessible. We use August Home app to secure the AirBnB. You'll hear more from us about this when you book. To use the app, you will need to provide your name, email, and phone number. The property gates lock once the club closes at night. We provide you the code to the gate in our welcome message. Our staff is onsite daily, and we're happy to help with anything you need! After hours, we are a text or phone call away. You will need a vehicle to get around town. While you're on the property, you can use our golf cart to zip around to the pro shop, tavern, or the course.
