Welcome to Harvest Ridge in charming Carlton, Oregon! Named as one of America’s Best Small Wine Towns in 2019, Carlton boasts the most tasting rooms per capita and celebrates the splendor of Willamette Valley while staying true to its roots. An original 1950s cottage, Harvest Ridge was fully renovated in 2018 and has 2 queen bedrooms with closet space, an office with a futon, and a full bathroom. All linens are luxurious 100% cotton by Brooklinen, and plush robes are provided. COVID Note We are committed to thorough cleaning and sanitizing of all surfaces according to CDC and Airbnb guidelines. We offer complimentary wine tasting passes to some of our favorite wineries and leave guests with local goodies. Enjoy unplugged time with a variety of board games, books, fire table and cornhole in our peaceful outside space. Make yourself at home in the cottage! We have a dedicated driveway but ask that guests do not use the garage. We live nearby in Dundee, so we will welcome you to the property and always available for questions or concerns. Harvest Ridge is a mere 5 minutes walk from Main Street where you can find restaurants and local gems like Republic of Jam, Carlton Bakery, and the meticulously restored 100 year old grain elevator that now hosts Flâneur Wines. While only 35 miles from Portland, you will feel a true wine country respite here. Our Local Favorites Wineries Ken Wright - As one of the pioneers of Oregon winemaking, Ken Wright celebrates the terroir of Willamette through his single vineyard Pinot Noirs. The tasting room is in the town’s original 1923 train station which Ken converted and now has a lovely outdoor patio. You might even catch Ken at Carlton Coast Tavern on a good night! Flâneur - In 2013 Marty Doerschlag purchased the iconic Carlton grain elevator which now holds their tasting room and event space. The word, flâneur can be described as follows: "A flâneur observes one's surroundings and takes time to appreciate the amazing details of life." The building itself is worth a visit but definitely stay for their beautiful selection of Pinots and bubbles. Say hi to Kelly! Troon - While Pinot is the queen of the vineyards here, Troon celebrates other varietals sourced from Rogue Valley including Sangiovese and Vermentino. This is the place for the bold red lovers! Their wines are also organic and farmed biodynamically. Laurel Ridge - Set on 240 gorgeous acres, Laurel Ridge is a family affair run by our friends Susan and Kira, a mother and daughter duo. They welcome dogs and have a large outdoor area to hang out. One of the best bangs for your buck, their 2016 Pinot Cuvee is divine for only $30. We also love their rosé for a summer day and a complex syrah-based blend, the Roan. Monk’s Gate - A short drive from Harvest Ridge, Monk’s Gate epitomizes the rustic beauty of the valley with the refinement of a veteran artist. Rebecca is a brilliant winemaker and her down-to-earth hospitality makes you feel right at home. Monk’s Gate does not distribute, so this is truly a must-visit (and must-buy)! Resonance - Just west of town, Resonance is the first winery outside of Burgundy for the revered Maison Louis Jadot. Nestled on the top of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, the views are absolutely stunning! With fire pits and Adirondack chairs, this is our favorite place to end a day of tasting and watch the valley in its golden hour glory. Fun fact: we have a photo in Harvest Ridge taken by one of our visitors here! Restaurants The Horse Radish - Known for their hearty sandwiches to keep your tasting day going, they are now open for weekend dinner, with live music to boot! Honoring local ingredients, they incorporate meats and greens from nearby farms. Earth & Sea - Bringing a taste of the coast, newly opened Earth & Sea elevates Carlton’s dining scene with their fresh seafood and homemade pastas. The space is modern and elegant and has one of our favorite vibes. Park & Main - There’s nothing like wood-fired pizza paired with Pinot! Founded by a local husband and wife duo (with a few restaurants under their belt), Park & Main offers casual fare with pizzas, deli, gourmet market and craft ice cream. Call early to reserve a pickup! Carlton Corners - Don’t be deterred by its gas station facade; Carlton Corners has the best comfort food in town. Owner Mike learned how to make calzones in Sicily, which are definitely shareable size. It’s pure Americana at its finest. Barrel 47 - The Barrel Burger is a local legend, but the menu spans salads to prime rib. Situated in a former bank (vault included!), Barrel 47 dishes are best served with a cold beer. You can walk into town to enjoy one of the 15+ tasting rooms and restaurants. Beyond that, we recommend a car or hiring a driver for wine tasting days. Ubers are available but might require a wait.
