Highland Haus- Cozy A-Frame Cabin with Wood Stoves

Looking for the perfect cabin get-a-way? The Highland Haus is your answer! Cozy 1975 A-frame chalet cabin sleeps 4 with a comfortable living space, two wood stoves, and a full kitchen. Located in the rural quiet lake community of Stoddard. Enjoy the peace and quiet that this area has to offer. Many local hiking options are available. It is less than a 2-hour drive from Boston to the Highland Haus! The front original A-frame was built in 1975, in that space, you will find a dining/kitchen area, climb the spiral staircase to the loft bedroom, walk down the hall to the bathroom and back sitting area (this can also be used as a bedroom). As you continue down you then step into the first addition that serves as the main living area. Sprawl out on the couch while you listen to the fire. Attached to the living area is the second addition which holds the master bedroom with a king bed and wood stove. There are cabins near our Haus, almost all of them are strictly summer use only cabins. Most of the time you can except to not see or hear anyone else. But we wanted to let you know that we do have neighbors nearby. Parking for 2 cars in the winter and 4 cars in the summer. Our house is off a private driveway, so we ask that our guests do not block the road. Casey and Chris live just 55 mins away and will be available by phone throughout your stay. Highland Lake is a short walk away. During the winter there are endless snowmobile trails and plenty of snowshoeing locations. Most of the homes in this area are seasonal with some neighbors who live there year-round. Chances are you won't see anyone during your stay. Keene, NH is a 25-minute drive away, with lots of shopping options, and great local restaurants. Hillsborough is a 22-minute drive away, there you will find a grocery store, NH liquor store, and some food options. The Mill Village Country Store is located just a 6-minute drive from the Highland Haus, they offer yummy breakfast sandwiches, a full lunch menu, and some grocery items, including a well-stocked beer cooler. Our Haus is on well water and at times can have a sulfur smell to it. During heavy rainfall, the smell may be worse. We provide a large Brita filter for you to use to drink water out of.
