Okanagan/ Similkimeen Private Apartment Farm Stay
If you're looking for a rustic farm retreat, you've found the right place. We're renting out our private apartment suite located on the main floor of our home. The property is located in a beautiful little town called Cawston which is known for its abundance of fruit trees and wineries that are nestled in a valley between rolling mountains. The Similkameen river runs through the town and is only a three to five minute walk from the property. Come on down, we'd love to have you stay with us. This is the real deal. Back when air b n b was first created, it was meant to share your unique space with those from other places. Our property is bustling, Sandy, my mom, is the owner, she's often roaming around picking veggies or cooking up something; Josh, my brother, runs a nursery on the back end of the property and is usually busy at work. There's a fire pit on the property that is perfect for small gatherings, to enjoy some music and star gazing as the day ends. We're friendly and generous, and figured this would be a good way to share some space and let others visit our hidden oasis. We're laid back, 420 friendly; dog friendly; and don't mind if you want a few others to camp on the property with you, just let us know in advance and it will be an additional 20$ a tent. You will have access to a private apartment suite that is located on the main floor of our home. The apartment has one bedroom with a queen sized bed, a living room with a television and double pull out couch, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower. There is what we describe as the "Summer Kitchen" that's located just outside the apartment and is fully equipped with an oven, fridge, toaster, coffee maker and grinder. The kitchen has been newly refinished! We consider the summer kitchen as only semi-private, as it may be used by other guests staying in our secondary air b n b trailer, as well as by me- to wash off fresh picked veggies from the garden ( which are often left out for those who need something fresh to add to a meal). You will have access to the whole property- there are 6 acres to roam around in, so make yourself at home! Please note that other's staying will have access to our property, along with our furry friends that will come say hi to you from time to time. You will have access to bath towels, beach towels and lawn chairs to take to the river. We're very accommodating and want you to feel at home, so let us know if you need anything and i'm sure we can help you out. The river is minutes away where we can show you where to park and go on a lazy river float, kayak, canoe or swim in crystal clear water. There are craft cideries like Twisted Hill, award winning wineries like Clos Du Soleil and Orofino that are only 5 minutes up the road. There is the Crowsnest winery and Row 14 for lunch and dinner if you're into a nice meal. If you like mountain biking or hiking, there are tons of trails that we can show you. Oliver is 45 minutes away, Osoyoos is 35 minutes away and Penticton is 40 minutes away. Unique to this valley is truly the abundance of farm fresh goodies. You can access farm gates where local vendors are selling their produce, get eggs from up the road, or stop in at the many fruit stands that line the Crowsnest highway on your way into town. If you're lucky, my mom will likely pick you some veggies from her garden for you to take home or use for the dinner you're cooking. There is no public transit, so bike, car or foot are your go to's. We have three dogs and two cats that roam the fully fenced property; they are VERY friendly but can sometimes make a little noise if they hear something at night. WE TRY our best for this not to happen, but just giving you a heads up. Dogs are welcome for a small fee, guide or therapy dogs are free.
