Welcome to The Villa Agave, a distinctly unique bed and breakfast estate in the heart of the Gold Hill Winery district. The Villa Agave offers an exclusive experience to adventurers, tequila connoisseurs, and history buffs, alike. On our 15 acre estate, hike on our private trail, enjoy a picnic at one of our vignettes with sweeping views, sip viognier from a local winery in the courtyard while watching hummingbirds splash in the Spanish fountain, or venture beyond our private estate. Rent the entire Inn and all facets of this luxury estate are at your fingertips. Each of our suites is named after the spirit made from the blue agave that we grow onsite: Tequila. Your stay includes a custom, top-shelf tequila tasting in our Agave Bar! Due to the unplugged nature of the villa, there are no in-room TVs, but there is a large screen TV in the Agave Bar. At The Villa Agave, we love nature and nurture the surrounding habitats. We also have critters onsite. If you have critter or pollen allergies, pack your Claritin or consider that The Villa is not the best fit for your getaway. ANEJO SUITE The spacious Anejo or Bridal Suite offers breathtaking views from its wall of windows. It features a sitting area with comfy leather chairs that is defined by a Zapotec textile from Teotitlan and an original work by renowned San Francisco artist Jessica Niello. From the silk window coverings to the entablature mirror, no expense has been spared in this exquisite suite. The suite has a private spa bathroom with jetted tub, bidet, and double-shower. REPOSADO SUITE Named after the delicately aged tequila, the Reposado Suite features a cloud-soft king bed, a view of the courtyard and original art from the renowned Mexican-American artist: Paul Valadez. The Reposado Suite has a private bathroom accessed via the hallway. BLANCO SUITE The Blanco Suite, named for the tequila that best maintains the original character of the agave plant, is adorned in crisp tones of white and black. The Blanco suite has a queen bed and features artwork from El Piche Grabador whose works have been on display at the Diego Rivera Museum in Guanajuato, Mexico. The Blanco Suite has a view of the courtyard and private bathroom accessed via the hallway. AGAVE BAR The Agave Bar is equipped with a double trundle bed. The inn has two and a half bathrooms for your group's use. The host's residence, Laundry and storage are in a separate apartment onsite. We are called The Villa Agave because we grow our own agave onsite with the intention of making our own tequila. We began this pursuit in 2020 and it will take 8 years for agave to mature. So in the meantime, we have the largest selection of tequila in El Dorado County and included in your stay is a custom tequila tasting! With advance notice, we can prepare a 3-course champagne breakfast for your group for $10 per person (per morning). Let us know if you are interested! We also have spa services and yoga available with advance notice.
