The Harwood House

The Harwood House is just a block away from a winery, shopping and restaurants near the courthouse square in the heart of San Saba. Built in 1928, the Harwood House welcomes you to be a part of its history and enjoy a quiet cottage close to everything. The home features spacious, comfortable rooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, and an outdoor seating area under shady pecan trees. A large, fenced back yard offers room to play. The Harwood House was originally built as a duplex, occupied by the town "druggist" in 1928. Shaded by large pecan trees in the "Pecan Capital of the World," the Harwood House offers a place to relax after exploring all that San Saba has to offer. Visit local wineries, the Wedding Oak, the only operational suspension bridge in the state, quaint shops, Colorado Bend State Park, local parks, and many historic elements of San Saba County. Arrive as a guest, leave as a friend. Hosts are available by phone for whatever you need, and can be on site in a few minutes if you desire. Harwood House is in a quiet, old residential neighborhood a stone's throw from downtown. A laundromat, donut shop, and Italian restaurant are nearby, as are local shops, restaurants, and historical attractions within easy walking distance. The acclaimed San Saba Courthouse is a couple of blocks away. Take a walking tour of downtown from the Harwood House, head home, and sit at the table under the pecans to cool your heels. It takes a long time to drive across town, but that's only because you'll chat it up with the locals for whom life is slow-paced and relaxed. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. Family pets are allowed, as long as they are not a noisy nuisance to neighbors. Hosts are committed to the highest cleaning standards, and hope that our guests appreciate this and maintain the cleanliness of the dwelling. No extra unregistered guests will be allowed on the premises.
