Glamping Cabin, Gorgeous Views, Winter Sunsets!
With winter here, it's sunset season. Evening skies are spectacular. Days even prettier. Always a pretty day here with these views! Thanks to our previous guests for so many terrific reviews! Even with no electric, everyone has been thrilled with our Glamping experience. We make getting outside easy and very comfy! With an awesome bed, propane heater, solar lights, fire pit, plenty of water, and private Loo and shower house, you wont want to leave. Come & enjoy the beautiful countryside, fresh mountain air and stress-free environment at the Jefferson Sea Cabin #1. There are 2, both private. Perched on a ridge under mature cedars, our cabin offers gorgeous eastern views from the Southwest Mountains, which is the first mountain range west of the Atlantic. The views are big and far. Some say you can even see Portugal! Bring your binoculars and count how many water towers you can see during the day. And in the evening, watch the stars and look for Mars and Venus from the comfort of rocking chairs on the deck. The "Jefferson Sea" Cabin is named after the Jefferson Sea, a description many attribute to the nations 4th President, Thomas Jefferson, who enjoyed the sea-like view from his home at Monticello, a world heritage site that shares a similar view from the Southwest Mountains and is just down the road. Wake up relaxed and enjoy natural beauty of bucolic farm land with towns below. Here, breezes and wild life are abundant including eagles, hawks, turkey, fox, rabbit and numerous wild birds. At night, because no chemicals are used on these lands, you can enjoy an evening show of blinking fireflies, not to mention a full sky of stars where on a clear night you can easily see the Milky Way and much more. Our farm was the site of a Civil War battle and we can tell you where both Union and Confederate troops mustered. Since then, a Richmond tobacco baron made this his estate. You can enjoy the giant Ginkgo Biloba trees, boxwood gardens, colossal Tulip Poplars, and Osage Orange trees he planted that are now thriving. Enjoy walks through the trees, fields and rolling hills and eat a handful of wild organic raspberries in season. We support BIPOC and all are welcome to enjoy our property :) LOCATION & THINGS TO DO Just down the hill, a mere mile away from your private perch, is the historic town of Gordonsville with perhaps the best BBQ on the east coast, wine tasting room, 2 breweries, a several more restaurants, a grocery store and much more.
