*NOTE: Our cleaning crew is following the guidelines set forth by Walton County. Welcome to the community of Sugarwood Beach, one of the most secluded and peaceful neighborhoods in the Seagrove community. Alas, we can't live in Seagrove full time so we're renting out our home to 30A visitors for portions of the year. The 2,000 square-foot home sits on a .3 acre wooded lot near the end of Wood Beach Drive, on the edge of a cul-de-sac. It's quiet location is a haven during high season, when 30A is in full swing and a bit crowded and noisy. It features a garage, fireplace and a backyard for nature lovers, full of native magnolias, palmettos and bay trees. We often sit in the sunroom just to look out on the back yard and have a cup of coffee. Two spacious bedrooms sleep four (one king, one queen,) and there are 2 sofas in the living room and sunroom. In 2017, we have renovated from top to bottom including all new flooring (wood tile and gorgeous, herringbone carpet), new glass pendants over the peninsula in the kitchen and new overhead lighting in the living room. We extended heating and cooling into the sunroom so it's a perfect perch year round for nature watching. The house features all new furniture, mattresses, lamps, artwork, window treatments and rugs. And of course new linens and towels. Now you understand why we have to rent it out!! :) It's a 15 minute walk to the beach and we have dedicated access with bike racks. Beach chairs tend to come and go in our garage, so to be on the safe side, rent or bring your own. Things to eat while you're in town: 1. Cowgirl Kitchen - the one in Seagrove is shutting down (sadly) but there is a CK Kitchen in Rosemary Beach. 2. Cafe 30A - Tuesday is $5 martini night in the bar 3. Edwards in Rosemary Beach - sit at the kitchen bar to watch them do their magic 4. Great Southern in Seaside - great outdoor bar plus Grits a Ya Ya and southern collard green rolls. 5. Black Bear Bakery in Grayton Beach - the Morning Buns are fabulous! PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE BOOKING FOR 2022: Please note that in January 2022, we plan to remove the bunk beds in the master bedroom and add an inflatable queen mattress that can be used in the living room or the sun room. Although we've hosted scores of responsible parents like yourself throughout the years, we continue to pay the price each year for a few parents who let their kids run wild, staining upholstery, breaking bed rails, ruining sheets, damaging carpets, breaking dishes and then denying it. Your children are of course welcome at our house, we are just no longer actively encouraging young children by supplying bunk beds. I am sorry it has come to this. We hope you'll come and enjoy a bit of Seagrove as much as we do! Call or write with questions! Thanks - Mary Leigh and Ross Howell
