Parks and (Oregon) Gardens and Horses - Oh My!

Enjoy a well appointed private guest suite on an operating Thoroughbred horse ranch bordering on the Cascade foothills close to both Silver Falls State Park and the Oregon Gardens. The tranquil setting affords plenty of opportunity to savor the views from your private deck. And while unsupervised schmoozing with the horses isn't allowed, if you'd like we'll be glad to introduce you to some of the herd. You can rub elbows with equine royalty - the offspring of two Kentucky Derby winners! Besides your well appointed guest suite you'll have access to many parts of the ranch which is a bit of a wildlife refuge. Enjoy the ducks and geese that frequent the seasonal pond and walk the creek where you can observe the industry of the resident beavers. If you're lucky you may see three different species of raptors but you'll certainly see and hear many other birds. When evening comes sit by the firepit and enjoy the sunset which is stunning nearly every night. And if you like star gazing we have very little light pollution and a telescope you're welcome to use - just ask. Owners are on site to address any special needs you may have but know that you've selected our site for the privacy and tranquility of the location so we won't intrude on your quietude. However, we are in the heart of farming country so you can expect different season dependent farming activities to occur on the surrounding acreage. Silver Falls State Park is just minutes away for your hiking and biking adventures. After a hard day of relaxing Panesanellie's Breadstick Shoppe and the Wooden Nickel, both barely 2 miles away in Sublimity, offer mouthwatering repasts and beverages. Wineries dot the landscape and the Oregon Gardens and historic Silverton are nearby as well. The driveway is 3/4 mile long and is graveled so you may not want to arrive in your low slung Corvette Stingray. We have ample parking.
