Wake up in the country. Experience a working farm in a beautifully restored Greek Revival Farmhouse with a modern stone addition on quiet rural road. Farmhouse Suite has private entrance, bedroom, bathroom and library. Enjoy farm adventures, programs, and private meals made with the best of the farm's meat, eggs, dairy and produce. Eat. Immerse. Experience. Relax. Guests enjoy the first-floor suite in the 1863 Greek Revival farmhouse with a private entrance, a private backyard with a patio table and chairs and charcoal grill and fire pit. Please bring your own charcoal and wood. The suite includes a guest bedroom with a queen size bed, private bath and library. Single futon style mattresses are provided in the library suite to accommodate two additional persons; the mattresses are more suitable for children. The suite includes a refrigerator, microwave, coffee and tea station stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, creamer, and sugar. We hate to disappoint. If you want to participate in farm programs or order meals, inquire about availability BEFORE you book. Wander the farm and talk to the animals. Roam the pastures, bike country roads. Swimming, fishing, hiking and picnicing at Hartwick College's Pine Lake environmental center - 5 minute car ride from farm. (Closed because of the pandemic) During winter months, there are many cross country ski and snowshoe trails on or near the farm. Downhill skiing, including Plattekill, Windham and Belleaye are about 45 minutes to one hour drive from the farm. Enjoy a guided tour of the farm and lend a hand with farm chores (1 to 1½ hours) for $60 per group (up to four persons). Farm chores, depending on the season, may include collecting eggs, bottle feeding kid goats or lambs, feeding and watering chickens, rabbits and pigs, moving the sheep or dairy goats with the border collies or milking a goat. Farmer for a Day is a half day adventure for $250 for four persons, includes farm lunch. (Not recommended for children under 10 years of age.) Other programs include Field and Kitchen Workshops, Culinary and Art adventures. (Not available because of the pandemic.) Ask for details. Fable=farm+table, our on-farm restaurant is open only for private events and for our farm stay guests. (Indoor dining in the restaurant kitchen is closed because of the pandemic) Private meals, including lunch, are delivered to your suite or served in the suite's private back yard (weather permitting) Five course dinners are $65 person and three course dinners are $45. Picnic lunches are $25 person. Enjoy a Grazing Board while you check in and unpack. The Grazing Board is a charcuterie board of our farm-made sausages, pâté and local cheese, savory dips, fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, pickled veggies and chutney. $25 per person. Regional wine added for $18. The breakfast bag is $12 per person and includes farm made muffins, yogurt, hard boiled eggs or quiche, juice, milk and coffee/tea. Participation in farm programs and meals must be reserved in advance of your arrival. Due to the pandemic, we do not mix guests or the public for farm programs or meals. Farm tours and meals are private. Due to our schedules, we cannot offer Tours, Farmer for a Day or picnic lunches on Saturdays May to November. A farmer or farmhand is always available to our guests to answer questions, make recommendations for off farm activities and help make the farm stay safe and fun. Quiet country road with three working farms. Nestled in a valley surrounded by mountain pastures. The farm is located approximately a 20 minute drive to the towns of Delhi and Oneonta, and about a 35 minute drive to Cooperstown. Guests need wheels (bike or car) or a horse to get around. Unplug. WiFi (limited - signal is unreliable and may not be strong enough for interactive work such as Zoom meetings) No television reception. We do not allow pets or service animals on the farm. We love dogs but our livestock guardian dogs do not. Our livestock guardian dogs' job is to protect their livestock from predators. They would regard your dog or pet as a predator. Therefore, your dog is not safe on our farm. Farm programs include Tour & Chores, Farmer for a Day and Field and Kitchen workshops. (Due to the pandemic and our new schedules, we cannot offer Field and Kitchen workshops or Tours, Farmer for a Day or picnic lunches on Saturdays.) Advance notice needed for these programs. Private dinners served upon request with at least one week's notice. We've gotten great press - most recently from Thrillist "10 Insanely Awesome Farm Activities You can Drive To" ; Bon Appetit's Food Traveler as Top 25 Foods Farms & Flavors Tourism Destination ; NOFA's summer newsletter; and a wonderful blog post from NewYorkCityFamily. Maps and other GPS often bring you to us in obscure and hard to drive routes, especially after dark. Please ask us to send you driving instructions. Check in is 3 - 9pm. We are a small, working farm. Late arrivals are very disruptive. We wake up before sunrise, so we go to bed early. There is a $35 late arrival fee for arrivals after 10pm. If you get delayed in traffic or lost, we would appreciate a call or email to let us know your arrival time
