A little respite

1 bedroom apt~ideal rustic family retreat, getaway for outdoor enthusiasts, bikers, hikers, and paddlers. Also perfect for remote working/business travelers wanting a full kitchen to cook and make our home yours. Weekly and monthly stays welcome. The whole apartment is yours for a quaint quiet getaway 7 min from beautiful and historic Shepherdstown and 20 min from Harpers Ferry National Park. We are on a 5 acre wooded lot with space for outdoor dining, a fire pit table, bbq grill, and a small walking trail. Many guests enjoy walking on the country road we are on. Apartment and its patio area are available for guests. We have plenty of parking and you can park in our circle or in the lower level of the house. An entry code will be sent for access. We also have a large turnaround circle to accommodate a larger vehicle or trailer. We do not have a fenced in area but we have space for a horse trailer. Checkin is contactless and we respect your privacy. I am most quickly available by text or phone call. It is a family home so you will likely hear us and see us. We have lived in the area for many years and are happy to recommend places. We love to socialize with guests but tend to give you space unless you would like to interact. Suburban community/neighborhood on 3-5 acre lots. Our lot is mostly wooded. 7 minutes to Shepherdstown and 15 minutes to historic Harpers Ferry National Park. Car or uber is necessary. Home is 5 min from MARC commuter train to DC and it operates Mon-Fri. 7 min from Shepherdstown, 15 min from Charles Town/Ranson, 20 min from Harpers Ferry Covid protocol: We are following the Airbnb enhanced cleaning guidelines, a cleaning log, and WV Dept of Health guidelines. We have a high quality air filter to reduce Covid transmission between guests. BBQ grill with propane, fire pit table, firewood, and amenities for fire will be available. Small nature trail on site with wildflowers. Smart TV with Netflix, Amazon Prime movies, Youtube, and Disney Channel via Roku. Wifi signal is generally great. We have a few sweet and friendly outdoor cats which may come around to visit outside and a small chihuahua that is typically inside our upstairs home. Also, we are in a small wooded area so there are sometimes abundant wildlife. We provide bug and mosquito spray and have pest control regularly and provide 24 hr response for any wildlife concerns. We live above with young children we try to be mindful of noise. We ask guests to do the same especially for late arrival or check-in. No parties please but socializing and entertaining are welcome. We give back to the community by offering deep discount stays for first responders and nurses with extended cleaning afterward. Also a portion of our proceeds goes to WV Rivers, a 501c3 supporting clean water in WV. We are very committed to supporting travel with positive impact to the environment and our community.
