Quiet one of a kind location situated between Brooks falls and Sandstone falls, nice huge deck facing river and just steps from the water. Extra campsite across field with outhouse, grill included for house. 2 fire pits, swing, trampoline, and shed with lots of extras. Water has slight odor of Sulphur. You won't find another spot like it. 400 sq foot deck overlooking 2nd oldest river in the world. Use riverside stairs to walk onto private beach. Easily swim, boat, and fish from the shore or just relax in the hammock. While on shore, enjoy any of the many outdoor seats while you watch the multiple species of birds. There are chairs around the fire pit. There is a huge acre plus yard to pass the football or play wiffle ball. A small creek, Mill Branch, runs through the property and can be accessed from the river or by the road. The stream has ice cold water and typically flows year round. There is a gas grill and also there is a swing set with slide. River typically has gentle currents but it is deep and swift in many areas, some of which are not obvious. While swimming and boating please use a pfd. Also keep in mind that the New River is dam controlled, other upstream tributaries are not, so river level fluctuate and can rise rapidly. Inside the mobile home, there are 2 nice size bedrooms, one king and one queen. The bedrooms both have dressers, nightstands, and lamps. The kitchen has coffee pot, toaster oven, water dispenser, fridge/freezer, and stove/oven. The living area has one couch and two swivel chairs. There is a TV and DVD player with a small collection of DVDs. There is no WIFI, but there is satellite TV. Also there is little to no cell service. Sprint/T-mobile does work. Cell coverage is excellent 2 miles in either direction, at Brooks Falls to the south and Sandstone Falls to the north. The bathroom is small and typical of mobile home. The water is from a 110' well. Occasionally the water can have an odor and appear to have a gray tint. This is from naturally occuring sulphur and iron in the water. This occurs most often during rainy weather. The water will not hurt you, I have drank it. The home has a septic tank, please do not flush anything other than waste and tp down the toilet. Please use the same caution in the kitchen and do not attempt to wash solids down the drain. Just two miles downstream, Sandstone Falls is open year round. The area has a wonderful boardwalk and beautiful views. We have 2 bikes available for you to ride. It is an easy ride to the falls but the speed limit along the road is 40 mph, so use at your own risk. The weekend traffic flow can be quite heavy. The town of Hinton is about 5 miles up stream. There's a park called Bell Point next to the Bluestone dam with a playground, skate park, and boat put in. There is also a McDonald's, Dairy Queen, and Kroger. Pipestem State park is also very close by at around 15 miles. It has a 2 golf courses, a restaurant, a tram that takes you down to the bluestone river, and a trout stocked pond. Information on all these topics can be found in our house gui All spaces are included and 3 acres of field and river frontage. The owner and/or property manager will be available 24/7 Our camp is located directly between Sandstone Falls and Brookes Falls on the New River on a section called Long Bottom.
