VIEW of Paradise Valley, Kootenai River Valley & Selkirk Mtns. Secluded, not isolated, 5min to Bonners Ferry, 30min to Sandpoint. 3 bdrm/2 bth. Dedicated WiFi, Netflix, Parking for 2-3 rigs. 1ac fenced + 10ac woods, Hot Tub. Minutes to Natl Park Service trailheads/local lakes/waterfalls. WINTER GUESTS will need to shovel 20' sidewalk; snow shovels provided. FIRE PIT: BYO wood (or $7 per 10 pieces for onsite wood). Note: SUNDAY check-in will need to book the Saturday before (see details). Vaulted living room ceiling with custom wood and west-facing windows looking out to the valley and Selkirk Mountains. Large kitchen with granite counters & eat-in kitchen island, custom built-ins, gas stove. Laundry room. Covered back patio with propane grill (we supply the bottle, you supply the propane) and hot tub. Dead-end road, very private, quiet, and peaceful. Watch for Deer daily, wild Turkeys, Bald Eagles, and an occasional Bobcat or Cougar! NOTE: You can check IN on a SUNDAY if you'd like, but you'll need to book the SATURDAY before as well. This is because our cleaning crew is not available to clean on Sundays, so we'll need to clean on SATURDAY before you arrive. We discount Sunday pricing for this reason. (Fire Pit unavailable during Fire Season.) WINTER GUESTS: We provide snow shovels, and you'll need to shovel the sidewalk between parking and front door (approx. 20 feet). It's part of Winter in North Idaho. If you're unable to shovel a little snow, then please don't book our property during Winter months as we are unable to shovel the sidewalk for you during your stay. Thank you. Guests will have private use of the entire house except for the laundry room, which is shared (by our cleaning crew only). House includes 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, back patio, and back yard. Guests will also have shared access to the Fire Pit, which is shared with guests of our other AirBnB unit on the property. BYO wood, or purchase onsite wood for $7 per 10 pieces. You'll have dedicated parking and your own yard space. Propane grill on the back patio (we supply the bottle, you supply the propane). There is a shared fire pit (when it's not fire season), and seasonal garden - help yourself to any ripe fruits. And there are 10 wooded acres on the property that you can explore. Quail House is located on a dead-end street with quiet neighbors. Most of our guests come to get away from their busy/hectic city lives and enjoy the peaceful seclusion they find here. Be sure to look up at the sky at night, and try to count the thousands of stars. During the day, watch the fence perimeter for the local Deer and Wild Turkeys, or an occasional Bobcat. While our property feels very secluded, Bonners Ferry is just 5 minutes down the hill, so if you forgot something at the grocery store, it's a quick trip to town and back. The Kootenai Wildlife Refuge is just 15-20 minutes away, and national forests, hiking, waterfalls, lakes, and the Kootenai River are all nice day excursions. After enjoying the great outdoors during the day, visit some of the local restaurants for dinner, or try your hand at the local casino. WINTER BOOKINGS: Bonners Ferry can experience light to heavy amounts of snow from late September through March, with the occasional fluke snow before/after these dates! People come to Bonners to enjoy the winter wonderland. So please plan for snow - clothing and vehicle, and pack your winter emergency kit in your vehicle, just in case. The City/County plows snow on the main roads in town, and the paved roads leading to the Quail property. The last 1000 feet is a private gravel road shared by about 6-8 neighbor properties. The gravel road is plowed by our wonderful neighbors. Driving slowly on the gravel road is imperative, to preserve the road and prevent potholes. Our property is inside a fenced 1-acre (in addition to our forested 10 acres), and we do not plow or blow the snow inside the fence. So if there is much snow, you will need to shovel the driveway so it doesn't become a thick sheet of ice. We ask that you shovel the snow off to the side so it doesn't pile up and block the driveway for the next guests. If you're booking a stay during potential snow season: Please monitor weather forecasts for *severe* weather, and plan groceries and parking accordingly. You may want to park out on the main road and walk to the Cottage if it's going to snow a lot and you need to drive somewhere. Or stay home, watch movies, read a book, or do puzzles and enjoy the Winter beauty! Vehicles: AWD, 4WD, front wheel drive vehicles, good winter tires, etc. are all helpful in the winter. "Ski-in / Ski-out" applies to Cross Country skiing, snow permitting. Bring your slippers and pajamas, and settle in and relax! We're sorry, but we do not offer refunds for last-minute weather events. Bonners Ferry is a 4-season paradise, and people come to the area in the winter specifically for skiing, hunting, winter hiking, holidays, etc. So we are unable to offer refunds at the last minute because we likely could have re-booked the dates with more advance notice. WINTER GUESTS: We provide snow shovels, and you'll need to shovel the sidewalk between parking and front door (approx. 20 feet).
