If camping used to be your thing, but roughing it has lost its appeal, Otter Lodge She-La Shed is the place for you!!! It is a perfect woodland get-away for two. You will be reluctant to leave the property once you arrive, and you will be eager to return after a day exploring the many "Up North" destinations. Otter Lodge She-La Shed is the third vacation rental of Otter Lodge Inn, LLC. She-La Shed has been converted into a tiny house and will be ready to welcome our first guests mid July, 2021. The 240 sq. ft. Shed has a kitchen with a small fridge, countertop oven and electric burners. The only enclosed room is the half bath. The rest of the open space has two twin beds and a place for reading, conversation or to enjoy a movie. The outdoor shower is private and enclosed and only 4 steps across the front porch. Although you can dine in, you will likely choose to eat alfresco or sip your morning coffee on the 144 sq. ft. screened in porch. The She-La Shed fire pit will be a favorite evening spot to chat about your day and to plan your next adventure. We are lucky to own 9 of the prettiest acres on the Boardman River. Over the years we have created many paths that our guests enjoy while winding their way to the river. A large, open area on the riverside has been designated just for our She-La Shed guests. You may also enjoy our private beach that we share with the guests staying at Otter Inn and She-La Shed. We live on the property along with our black lab, Girlie. We love getting to know our guests but also respect their privacy. We are always available by text or phone, but if we are out in the yard feel free to strike up a conversation. Our "neighborhood" is unique in that we are a limited number of homes in the Pere Marquette State Forest where "A River Runs Through It" and we are completely surrounded by state land and wild life. We are situated on 9 wooded acres on the banks of the north branch of the Boardman River, an ideal location for those looking to enjoy the many tourist destinations that Up North Michigan has to offer and for outdoor enthusiasts looking for a peaceful retreat. ATTN HIKERS- In 2019 we were thrilled when The North Country Hiking Trail was extended to our area. In fact, the trail can be accessed directly off the back of our property or by walking 1/4 mile down our road and stepping on. It is a great addition and many of our guests are enjoying it. Our guests are always treated to an immaculate home upon their arrival. We have adopted the cleaning guidelines and disinfecting standards suggested by the CDC. Otter Inn has a maximum guest allowance of 6. Therefore, at most, the number of guests enjoying the grounds at the same time is 8, including She-La Shed guests. For your enjoyment we provide premium tubes to float our 1/4 mile of river front. Guests are responsible for the replacement or loss of damaged tubes.
